Forums - Gaming - Epic Mickey 360 & PS3 Now Feasible

How is this looking like a "sleeper hit?" Its a Disney game being sold to the Wii audience, its being released during the holidays, it'll likely be marketed since Disney is publishing, and its being hyped to death by Wii fans. If anything sales expectations are high.

By the way, if this has bad reviews it'll stay on the Wii. I rarely see poorly reviewed games do well on HD consoles.

It makes sense to put it on all systems. There no excuse not to if you can.

Well, there is an excuse: remaking all the game's assets to fit one of the HD systems could be expensive. If they don't think their return would be high enough to justify that cost, then a port won't happen.

Not saying they'll think that. Just saying that if it doesn't happen, that's probably why.

they wont have to do much, just make it HD, improve the visuals, and that's it.. you have the move to replace the wii mtoe, and the 360 controller/DS3 to take traditional controls.

Yeah i mean how long would that take like 4 months maybe even less.

If you advertise it, they will come.

Seriously though, if Disney Interactive Studios advertises in a way that focuses on an grand adventure with you controlling the Mickey Mouse in a land full of Disney characters, I think it'll be a big winner this holiday season. This is the sort of game that gets the attention of traditional Nintendo fans and the expanded audience who love Disney/Mickey outside of video games.

Like I said before, I'm definitely looking forward to it.

Nope... but it helps.

Sadly Mickey will flop because the hype is near zero. Everybody's hating on the game. I don't understand why because I think it looks great.

Its different from the usual Mickey cartoons and games. But it looks very much like a Disney project and it still has the E rating.

Mario became radically different from the original form. That didn't seem to hurt the franchise. Sonic did too, unfortunately the games have been shit.

You can make excuses for some games. I mean was anybody really surprised Sin & Punishment 2 bombed?

But Epic Mickey seems like a perfect match for the Wii audience. So if it bombs on the Wii with advertising, that would be pretty surprising.

So my son, what lifetime sales do you predict for Epic Mickey?
