And if you see the Bonus Round, he's a pretty cool guy in general.

Not to mention he PWND us all with his insanely high MW2 prediction (which came true) a year ago.

Actually he really low-balled MW2. He predicted 18 million after 12 months. With PC sales it crossed 20 million after something like 6. IIRC even ioi predicted something like 18 million as well. With an eventual Wii release it probably has a shot at 30 million.

And yes, I kind of think Pachter is a cool guy too.

Proudest Platinums:
1. Gran Turismo 5
2. Persona 4 Arena
3. Wipeout HD
4. Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2
5. Super Street Fighter 4

Machina you never cease to dissappoint me. Here I thought it would be something interesting, which was my first mistake.

He's a business analyst. The fact that he, as a business figure, has become something of a cult figure among gamers is evidence enough that he's a very capable guy. He has a lot of knowledge. His predictions are not always 100% correct, but he at least gets the business, which is probably more than many professional investors do, and as a client I would have faith that he understands the business models and future opportunities driving the game industry.

I don't think he 'gets the business'.  Encouraging publishers and promoting subscription based multiplayer as a means to increase industry revenue and counteract declining software sales seems like a logical fallacy to me.  Aren't we most likely to see an even bigger software decline in it's wake?

Awww dammit... I really thought this was gonna be your coming out thread.

There is nothing wrong when you still wet your pants at night..
