He's a business analyst. The fact that he, as a business figure, has become something of a cult figure among gamers is evidence enough that he's a very capable guy. He has a lot of knowledge. His predictions are not always 100% correct, but he at least gets the business, which is probably more than many professional investors do, and as a client I would have faith that he understands the business models and future opportunities driving the game industry.

I don't think he 'gets the business'.  Encouraging publishers and promoting subscription based multiplayer as a means to increase industry revenue and counteract declining software sales seems like a logical fallacy to me.  Aren't we most likely to see an even bigger software decline in it's wake?
