it all started with the ps1 days playing lara croft ( which is what most people played ) and spend hours messing around with the left joystick to get a close up on laras ass.

That's like asking: why are moviegoers, tv viewers, magazine subscribers, and internet users perverts? It's not a completely general rule. In fact, I don't even see it as much of a stereotype. Many of the most popular movies, tv events, websites, AND video games are pretty clean.
