I knew Sony had something still up in there sleeves whos going to buy the $300 kenict 4gb arcade bundle when you can just give another $50 and get a PS3 with a HDD, Bluray, and Move Bundle

who's going to buy a PS3 with move when for $150 less you can get a Wii and Mario?

If mario is such a big deal to the consumer they would have bought the wii already...and again Mario is not everyones cup of tea, like me who really do not care much for mario and haven't for around 10 years or so...

There ya go ;) your answer

Newsflash. The consumer has already bought the Wii. Now they're in the market for a second console to play between Mario games.

ugh yeah? That's what I mean...if Mario is what they wanted they will already have the wii for it...now those people might be interested in another one or no one at all...just saying Mario won't be a big actor into this situation at all

Don't expect Sony to fork over its profit margins - financially speaking this will probably be the best Christmas PS3 will ever have. Can't see a 'real' price cut on the older models, but they may discount them to clear out stock.

^^^^
That

I think $ony will not cut price until 2011 they wanna use this holiday to make some of the billions they lost back but I do expect some bundles with move and the 320gb model.

But, if they are only going to lose as much as they would make back with the purchase of one game and controller, it would definitely be worth it.  Not only will it help keep PS3's momentum high during the holidays, it will also bring in more revenue as new owners buy new games and accessories.

@OP

I think this would be a great move by Sony.  The $399 bundle never made sense to me, since you don't even save money (the whole point of a bundle).  So the $349 bundle would make much more sense, as well as be more attractive to new purchasers.  Especially considering Move will be out for about a month ahead of Kinect, so it will have some time to take away some wind from Kinect.  I would also take it a step further and try to make minimum profit off the Move controllers, getting the asking price as low as possible, definitely on the navigation controller.

Kinect has very little to do with Move. Each has more in common with the WIi Mote than they do with each other.

A few weeks back, the PlayStation Blog let slip the details on three different PlayStation Move bundles, assuring that everyone was able to jump into the second wind of this console generation, regardless of where they stood in terms of hardware. Gamers could pick up the controller by itself for $49, get it with a camera and game for $99, or purchase a system, game, and a camera for $399. The last option didn't get any details, at the time, leaving gamers guessing as to what size hard drive it might come with. We've been sent some more information from a source close to Sony that has not only details on the $399 version, but information on an unannounced $349 edition as well.

According to the source (who has, in the past, proven reliable), the $399 version will come with a 320GB hard drive. The $349 version, which may or may not launch at the same time, will come packed with 120GB of space. This goes right alone with previous rumors of the company replacing its 120GB systems with 320GB models, and might mean a $50 price drop for the 120GB PlayStation 3 systems in the near future. That, or they'll just be phased out entirely.

Currently, we have no idea when this might be officially unveiled, but as Move's release date rapidly approaches it would make sense for the console maker to announce it sooner, rather than later. Might as well strike while everyone's still reeling over Kinect's $150 price point, right?

maybe because of the games... jeez... you would think that someone was buying the device as a BR Player first and gaming second

yeah i believe that all 120gbs will be bundle with move for 349 and release in oct-nov of this year this is how sony will discontinue that sku the 120gb will be replaced very soon already has in JP with a 160gb for same price

at move launch all that will be available is the bigger HDD sku for $399 sony did it this way so that they can make more money on those consumers that are the must buy at launch type

the other 2 companies better be shaking in there pants if this happens b/c the bang for the buck at $349 is insane

PS3 with a good enough sized HDD that will last you rest of gen

PS Eye

PS Move

DS3

Built in BluRay

Built in rechargeable controllers

PS Move Title

Free Online

Only $349 ya'll better step your game up

Didn't you make a certain bet to leave?

I disagree with alot of what your saying...infact with you comment like

"PS3 with a good enough sized HDD that will last you rest of gen

PS Eye

PS Move

DS3

Built in BluRay

Built in rechargeable controllers

PS Move Title

Free Online

Only $349 ya'll better step your game up"

1-How do you know? Why would they offer such a larger hd then? *see what I did there?*

2- Kinnect...

3-DS3...ummm confused you mean what? Surly not 3d?...seeing that less than 1% use it home wise atm...or you mean dungeon siege 3? or...idk wtf?

4-...have you not seen how easy it is to dl hd copys of movies on the net? Have you not seen how ''NOT'' BR is taking over?  Come on...Br copy Digi copy dvd copy all for 20$...it's getting desperate mate.

5- You realize....when that battery runs out*i've already had 2*...you have to pay out for that new controller...infact it doesnt even charge while the ps3 is off...but thank you wii.

6-???? Updates...and wii copys don't mount to much...ohh you mean hard core games...come spring...2011.

7-349 is great...for one person...do you really think gamers are all alone at this point?

Acutally now that I think of it a $249 for clearing the 120gb model is possible

In japan they are clearing out the 120gb and 250gb and replacing it with the new WHITE PS3 and a standard black 320gb model.

Ohhh I sure hope it happens!

dont think it will be that big for the ps3 this holiday for sales though. move is more for the hardcore than the casual ( kinect ) . i think it might sell good though, just not huge.

Its too early to come up with a conclusion as to what shall be the best among casual gamers..Wii's already runnin high in the business...Kinect needs to impress in the same way or the other ...It can get tough since the accurate motion control is still a prime requisite. Move is none the less too.

Oh that should make things interesting :D GC?

interesting?

$349 PS3 Move bundle and 120gb going to $249 will just do pure owning this holiday notin interesting bout it

this is better, but still on the fence on the pricing. they should play it safe and announce a $129.99 bundle which realy isn't a bundle at all, but it would balance the price and make move more appealing.(in my op)

$129.99 bundle

all three controllers and maybe give eye camera a special price for buying the bundle or something.

They should replace the 120GB models with 160 GB models.. but if they replace it with a 320gb model and keep the price at $299, that's even better.

but I'd like the idea of a 320GB ps3 for $299.. since there are some people that buy a 360 over a ps3 because the 360 is 250gb for the same price (I know it's kinda a weird sense of logic)

a 320 GB version without move would be huge to at $299.99. thanks for the idea, but i know the point is to sell move and PS3 and not just PS3's.
