I still simply cannot stop playing this game.

I wished they would get the voice chat working though. It's difficult typing strategies while scouting...

Why are people saying two major arcs in the Starcraft II story are pointless?  That's just dead wrong...

*Note since this is major story points the following will be spoiler*

The Haven story arc is important due to the fact that it leads up to the head scientist working on a cure for infestation *cough*whichwillbeusedonKerrigan*cough*

Tosh's arc leads up to the means to really start a rebellion that will succeed, the men and women Mengsk locks up because they spoke out against him, and powerful people that could be dangerous to his rule. Which could lead to many things in the overall story when the expansions hit.

*end spoiler*

Sorry but the story is pretty solid despite being a tad predictable

Multi is really fun, many new map editing tools, and as far as Bnet 2.0 you can bitch all you want but Bnet 1.0 wasn't the shit at launch either, people have fond memories of a system that was patched and updated to hell to become the system it is now.

haha, I made the exact opposite choices.

The story about Nova, and specters is basically a shortened version of the entire Starcraft: Ghost storyline, they probably added it as fanservice.

*semi-spoiler* Try chosing to help the protoss burn the infested in the other story arc, then you will see why the scientist wanted you to stop the protoss and said she had a cure, you'll feel bad for not cleansing the infestation.

Canon is picking to help the colonists which doesn't end that way and so is helping Tosh.

@Vlad

wow you've got some sort of anger you need help with, that no one here will be able to squelch.

Really? I thought both options in both arcs were canon since they didn't have any effect on the main story. How do you what choices are canon?

Do you mean the final mission in the protoss mini-campaign?

In that case, build mass collossi mass phoenix void rays. Colossi is for pwning Zerg ground, stalker for helping the phoenixes and phoenixes to fend off Zerg air and use grav beam on hybrids while the void rays focuses them down. Then when you get carriers, build them too.

If you manage to get the top left expansion, the extra resources will make things a lot easier.

I had 2-3 full rows of photons cannons at each entry point which kept all my colossi, stalkers and high templasrs away from getting hurt. You don't have to destroy any zerg just defend, also becareful when Artanis joins. When you stealth everything around him he gets focus fired. However is you stealth the photon cannons and you kill the overseers very fast any size wave cant do jack shit  since they cant get in and cant see the cannons to destroy them. All they do is just kind of sit there and die. Getting a mothership was the most pleasant surprise in the entire campaign.

How do you know what ending is canon? Not only has the full story not been told, but the decision you made seems to have absolutely no effect whatsoever on the story. Also there is a post out there that explain exactly why I am pissed about SC2 and how it's the biggest disappointment I have had since Daikatana.

Yup, you need to whipe out the Zerg at the area.

The Zerg wave will not be reduced, but you will have more resources to fight it with.

Don't build cannons, they are just waste of minerals that could be spent building more collossi or phoenixes or void rays. Cannons are absolutely worthless in SC2 unless you just want them for stationary detection and already happen to have a forge.
