And what the hell were you thinking? Ravens over Science Vessels? Pure madness. Seige Tanks, Thors, Diamondbacks, and all the most broken units possible with Medivacs that can heal each other? I can just build a bunker for all it matters. A lot of the tech choices were like that too sadly. One option that is so much better than the other that its laughable like the Flame Turrets.

You might also notice I don't respond to people giving blind praise. The difference is they don't distract from a normal conversation. Someone blindly praising the game can be ignored and not derail a conversation. People vaguely slamming it can. Or have you not noticed I actually respond to the substance you offer?

You had claimed to get into the Beta after Copper was eliminated. Your time line proved it was completely impossible for that to have happened. Either you were wrong about when you got into the Beta by a good amount of time (a month off of memory)  or lied about the accomplishment. Anyway you slice it though there is still the fact that you adamantly, and repeatedly claimed there was no playing game off-line.

Curiosity question to everyone out there. Hercules or Predator? I have played around with both but neither seems terribly useful in a general sense. Hercules beat the mission where you blow up the 4 or so building for me on hard (well  plus or minus a dozen or more Siege Tanks with their 40 damage upgrade) but the Fusion Core pre-req means I don't bother teching to them 90% of the time. Predators are easier to get, and beat the piss out of groups of units like Zerglings, but there are other ways that are almost as effective. Seems like both are situationally useless in most missions.

yea the tech "tree" was a tad disappointing I wish it was more like an actual tree. I hope the "RPG system" in the next one is more well fleshed out.

That is absolutely false, I was in the beta a a few days before Gamestop had their Beta deal, then I preordered and swindled them for 2 beta keys instead of one. In fact I made a post about how I screwed over Gamestop. The patch removing copper was a few weeks later than that, so it is absolutely impossible for me to have played after it. In fact Patch 13 came out about 2-3 months ago and the Gamesto thing was mid April-ish. Also, there was absolutely no way to play the beta offline indeed, whenever my internet was down I was screwed, going by a given interview that, now apparently a bunch of idiot PRs, they made it sound like if you could not log on Bnet you were screwed.'

I went with predator, they really helped me out on the missions where the terrans had a lot of ground troops. If you send in enough to survive, since they die super fast, they can annihilate a whole group in seconds. They were also awesome for the Media Blitz since I coudl jsut rush them to the circle and kill whatever was occupying it once the air was dead.

If that is true then you should have seen the big Play Offline with Disabled For Beta sign which I pointed out to you in the thread.

Predators don't work any better than Siege Tanks, or Banshees though while costing not much less. They were good, but it seemed their role was just filled by so many other units that I never got around to building them. Great units in a vacuum for certain, but useless when you realize there are units that do the same but better

I chose Ravens too because I wanted to get used to the unit for later in multiplayer games.

I got banned before I could test it out and reply, It's not often I have that I don't have internet at home but I do travel nonstop so that would have been a potential problem.

Yeah but the predators are super fast, there is no set up and tear down timer so you can targets out of yoru reach. I never used them to defend enything since they dropped dead very fast, but if I had to go out and clear zerg or infantry a few of them were awesome if I had something going in first absorbing the damage.

I also chose specters, but I was wondering if ghosts also get the bonuses that Specters get because holy crap the perma invis is fucking amazing.

P.S. Did anyoen egt the Hive Mind thing instead of a psi disruptor? The Disruptors were way awesome vs zerg if you placed them correctly all around. I am also guessing everyone got the tech reactor?

Ghosts get the perma invis as well. I forget what the other Specter upgrade was, but I am pretty certain it is not the same as Ghosts which is bonus range and sight. I also got the Hive Mind. It sucked, hard. I probably wasn't using it right as I kept defaulting into multiplayer mode. For example I forgot I had Perdition Turrets up until the final level when I built the first one.

@TruckO
How are you going to get used to the unit when it comes with all its upgrades base, and ton of other little things are unfixably different. Marauders not having Stimpacks for example. Also, when are we getting a 4 man Vgchartz team going?

Why are people saying two major arcs in the Starcraft II story are pointless?  That's just dead wrong...

*Note since this is major story points the following will be spoiler*

The Haven story arc is important due to the fact that it leads up to the head scientist working on a cure for infestation *cough*whichwillbeusedonKerrigan*cough*

Tosh's arc leads up to the means to really start a rebellion that will succeed, the men and women Mengsk locks up because they spoke out against him, and powerful people that could be dangerous to his rule. Which could lead to many things in the overall story when the expansions hit.

*end spoiler*

Sorry but the story is pretty solid despite being a tad predictable

Multi is really fun, many new map editing tools, and as far as Bnet 2.0 you can bitch all you want but Bnet 1.0 wasn't the shit at launch either, people have fond memories of a system that was patched and updated to hell to become the system it is now.

haha, I made the exact opposite choices.

The story about Nova, and specters is basically a shortened version of the entire Starcraft: Ghost storyline, they probably added it as fanservice.

*semi-spoiler* Try chosing to help the protoss burn the infested in the other story arc, then you will see why the scientist wanted you to stop the protoss and said she had a cure, you'll feel bad for not cleansing the infestation.

Obvious spoilers for the entire post.

I can guarantee you that you de-infest Kerrigan even if you end up killing the scientist and burn the entire colony. As for Tosh's arc, maybe you didn't notice that what has ended Mengsk's rule was the Media Blitz mission, which had no bearing whatsoever from Tosh's missions.

Furthermore if you scrapped those two obvious filler arcs and scrapped the Protoss one they could have easily added a full length Protoss and Zerg campaigns. Really the onlything worthwhile in this release were the Artifacts missions, some of the Rebellion missions (the race with Orlan was an obvious filler), and the final few missions. Everything else could have been scrapped. But I guess Blizzard couldn't fuck you over as much if they had done that.
