I read the thread, and you said "When was the last time a hack and slash ever won GOTY" and I said, god of war in 2005, and god of war II GOTY PS2 in 2007.

I don't believe GOW III will win GOTY (even though its F'ing amazing, but MASS EFFECT 2 clearly has gotten better reviews, and may be the better game) but I did say that it was already said that it definitely is a contender by reviews for which you said no game other than ME or AW have been called "GOTY contenders".

Of course I'm looking at IAA's Overall Game of the Year.  That's basically the highest award possible that they give.

Ok. Wiki used to only state IAA under any game achievement award. I guess they have moved on from there. I was wrong. Game looks fantastic.

Not sure if I would say it is GOTY material just yet. Red Dead Revolver looks fantastic and looks like it could take it as does Halo or Gran Turismo.

The OP is twisted in itself.. I understand you like ALAN WAKE and are hyped up for it, but to say " WOW GOTY, DESTROYS RE AND SH" based on a trailer isn't too smart.

Then you decided to go on and say "How funny only AW and ME have been touted as GOTY contenders by Reviewers" when other games like GOW III and heck even HEAVY RAIN have been called GOTY contenders by many reviewers. Then you decide to say "OUT OF PITY, AND WHEN DID A HACK AND SLASH EVER WIN GOTY" how aren't you going to get people to attack you with comments like that?

I might not be a prominent poster, but I've been lurking the comment sections and forums long enough to know that you always use the same pattern when posting something, and the fact that you haven't learned yet is kind of irritating, to say the least. 

 

The fact that you dismiss any games that are not for the XBox 360, like you did for GoW3 here will get partisans AND unbiased gamers alike very hostile.

 

Btw Selnor, do you know when is the embargo (for reviews) for Alan Wake?
I don't know where to find the info and I remember Seece saying it somewhere but I can't find it.
