Worst then Monster Hunter Freedom Unite on the PSP. It's sitting at 330K in America now.

Lifetime sales? Want to bet it will pass 330k?

Well the PSP monster hunter will probably hit 500K in the end, I'm just saying the Wii MH will do worst.

Probably do about 100K first week.

Freedom Unite won't come near 500k imo, it's pretty much done at this point (as is PSP in general in America).  If may be a little overtracked here as well, Dragona at GAF put it's ltd around 250k US late last year and Capcom USA also said the game "struggled" versus their expectations (it had a good bit of advertising, including television and mass transit spots).

It's first NPD was 68,768.  I expect Tri to likely double that figure.

Gilgamesh, come on. The PSP does not sell software, the Wii version should easily double the PSP in this round. People actually want this game.

It's still a Japanese game, MH is most popular in Japan. Not going to do nearly as good as it did in Japan then the West.

No one said it was going to do as well as Japan, but the Wii sells software in NA, the PSP does not.

Not on PSP.  On Wii, I wouldn't be at all surprised if lifetime NA+EU > JP for Tri.

50000 first week, 750000 lifetime in US
In Europe i say 10000 first week, 200000 lifetime

Do you need to pre-order to get the demo?

If you do then people shouldn't take VGChartz pre-order numbers as definitive proof of 100k+ sales.

Remember M.A.G.?

Nope, you don't need to preorder to get the demo

Then ignore everything I said.

Now I want a demo.

And that's data up to the 10th of April, there's still another whole week and a bit of preordering to go

yeah but the sales of game dont always reach there pre-orders if people dont pick up the gane strate away from where they orderd it et

i have the feeling eu sales will disappoint once again, seriously, in europe piracy is becoming a really big issue.

I hear this. I'm sure you've all noticed that recent Wii releases in Others regions have had rather poor sales in comparison to Americas numbers. Honestly, i think it's feasable that we all drastically lower our expectations for european territories. Practically all of my close friends have no intention to "buy" this game aside from me, as i flat out refuse to pirate or abuse backups. In fact, i already have one friend who has pirated the US copy of the game which was dumped recently.

Piracy may not be the main issue here, but there has got to be some viable explanation for the utterly dreadful performance of recent Wii titles in Europe.

How technical is your game?

Tri might fare better than most in Europe since Nintendo's handling publishing and promotion directly there. Worth keeping in mind, that Nintendo logo on the box does seem to make some difference with the massmarket...

My local gamestop is having a midnight launch for monster hunter, as far as I know the only third party wii game to have one and it stopped accepting preorders over a month ago,
if nothing else it is a good sign that the game has enough interest to have a midnight launch, but half the staff are big time monster hunter fans

I HAVE A DOUBLE DRAGON CAB IN MY KITCHEN!!!!!!

Take a look at this table and you tell me sales have leveled off, it's still going up and up, it'll be well over 400K by the end of 2010.
