I was at a Nintendo event last week for Monster Hunter 3, at the event I got talking to a Nintendo rep and after chatting for a while I asked her if she's seen the new Zelda.

She said she had but couldn't talk about it, but after a few minutes of begging I managed to get her to answer a question I had.

I asked if the new wii Zelda is more like Twilight Princess or the DS games she responded that it’s more like the DS games.

I walked away thinking that’s a shame (im more of a realistic gritty person when it comes to Zelda). But then it dawned on me.... what if she meant playability wise. I have no problem with the DS Zelda’s, I think they’re great but that’s because they're made with the DS in mind. I’m not sure I would be happy with this style of Zelda as a fully fledged console game.

If this is true I think it would be a shame as I think Zelda is one of Nintendo’s only franchises that benefits from being hardcore. I was hoping the new game would be dark like Majoras Mask.

Oh well, there is also the possibility she was blowing smoke up my arse.

i don't know you but i do know better than to believe anything i read online, especially with no sources ...etc

whether or not this did happen, i didn't play any DS Zeldas so i don't know what you might be referring to, could you explain the difference between Console vs DS Zeldas? (other than graphics/art style)

If they perhaps mean the puzzle-centric design, maybe. But Nintendo has to know that the reason why people want Motion Plus Zelda Wii is for combat. A combat heavy Zelda is what the hardware basically calls for.

@miz1q2w3e its exactly like Mr Khan said, the DS zeldas aren't very combat based at all and the puzzles are quite easy i think, almost as if its appealing to the new gamers Nintendo are attracting to gaming, which is no bad thing i might add. But for the wii version i was hoping for it to be more aimed at people who have been playing them since the nes, i want a tough game with motion plus support for sword combat with the decent puzzles we've come to love from the series.

also im just sharing with you what i was told and am asking if you think the nintendo rep was telling me the truth, im not sure myself.

also @Shonen this news might be fake but the art work they showed at e3 last year means nothing. remember the original demo they showed on the GC hardware, that game ended up being Wind Waker, very different artistically.

I think it means more creativity, like how the DS's touch screen allowed for more creative gameplay
