Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Will Super Mario Galaxy 2 ACTUALLY be hard?

Looks hard, which takes away the essence of mario games, which are casual gaming

Mario has broad appeal, it has never been casual.

Count me all the way out of the "galaxy was too easy" crowd...

I ran through it, it was awesome, I wouldn't have it any other way.

Challenge = fun, is an outdated gaming principle.

Not really, a game can be fun without difficulty.

A game can be challenging and total shit.

However, a game being too easy removes some of the fun. Having that extra challenge in a game makes it that much better.

I think you just agreed with him.

I don't really care. Mario galaxy had a few hard levels. Sometimes a game can be more fun when it's easier. I play Mario games to escape from the real world, to blow of some steam. If I want a difficult game then I'll play metroid prime 2 without dark suit or something along those lines.

This is all up to the person playing it. I found quite a few parts of the first one hard and platformers are easily my favorite style of games.

I predict that it will be harder than Super Mario Galaxy and not as hard as Super Mario Sunshine. Of course, I could be completely wrong.
