Everyone wants their console of preference to be like the PS2.

I think, PS2=wii+360+ps3 in terms of software diversity, quality titles vs shovelware, etc...

PS2 was the weakest of its gen technically while the 360 isnt

PS2 was a god compared to the 360 in both First party/Third Party exclusives

Online play was not a big selling feature of the PS2 while with the 360 is.

I dont remember hearing a ps2 ever fail,my ps2 still works and its from 2003.

ok I think all this gens consoles combined would make a ps2 for example,The wii casual,the 360 a bit hardcore,and the ps3 having smash hits when it needs them.

The Disc Read Error was pretty common.  It lead to a class action lawsuit.

Seems like he can:p wii has 6 according to gamerankings(includes resident evil 4) and 7 according to metacritic. Note that "cave" only has 9 reviews.

3rd Party support, no. The PS3 gets enough to where the 360 could never pull away as the PS2 did.

Failure rate, well I guess they're comparable.

All-in-all, it doesn't have to be at this point. But the PS2's market/fanbase is split. There isn't a console like the PS2 this gen. Some similarities, sure, but they'll probably never be a console like the PS2 ever again, in terms of console dominance.

No, sorry, PS3 is closet to the PS2 this gen. The fact that they are both PlayStation consoles made by same company alone trumps your entire argument

yes it came out b4 the other consoles has the most 80+ rated games on meta and most multis sell better on it all it needs is HW sales of the ps2 it kinda has them in NA but lacks in the rest of the regions
