The game is shit, Lafiel. How good did you expect it to sell?

I hope the PS3 gets a boost. It would kick ass if developers had two cosnoles in Japan worth developing for.

So you are making the argument that sales = quality, quality = sales or both?

"Actually Wii Fit seems promising and the big thing, as i see it, is the balance board. Let's assume, that Wii Fit will sell 5M WW (i pulled that number out of my ass) by the end of June 2008, which would be around 1/7 Wii owners would have one. That would mean, that there's a lot of publishers, that have interest to support the balance board with their games. I think one of the biggest potential in current games would be in racing games, where you could use it as pedals. And think of the other possibilities where you could use the balance board."

More garbage like that is the last thing I want to see from Nintendo. I'd rather see them focus on some kickass games, not over hyped bullshit. Some killer new IP's would be great!

*coughkillzonecough*

Also how do you know this game is shit. You haven't played it unless you're a blind sony humper who refuses to think nintendo can make anything good. Oh wait, I'm not supposed to judge people without enough data, but it does seem so.

I'm one of the few that believe you on this one, John.

Do you? He claims Wii-Fit will trample Halo's worldwide opening week.

Hell, no that's bold! I meant that WiiFit is going to be a huge seller WW, especially in Japan.

I say under 200,000 first week. It's audience is not the rush out and buy, and for the same reason the Wii is still sold out it will take a while to get the message of Wiifit all over the blue ocean. It will sell a few million lifetime and be a success.

Anything above 100,000 first week and 1 million lifetime is not a bomb. People are mischaracterizing what this mens to Nintendo from the John Lucas hype. It is something they are trying to differentiate themselves with, but it is just another piece of the nintendomination puzzle like super mario galaxy.

Wiifit is not the cornerstone of the future for the Wii. IT is not some end all be all focal point like Halo 3 for the 360 or a system savior like * for the PS3.

Final* Word on Game Delays:

The game will not be any better or include more content then planned. Any commnets that say so are just PR hogwash to make you feel better for having to wait.

Delays are due to lack of proper resources, skill, or adequate planning by the developer.

Do be thankful that they have enough respect for you to delay the game and maintain its intended level of quality.

*naznatips is exempt

No way will Wii Fit be a huge seller. I said this months ago and I just cannot fathom why there is so much love on this board for Wii Fit? What exactly is the attraction to this game?

I would see them struggling to hit even 1 million sales by the end of the holiday season. Halo killer? Please. Wii Fit couldn't even outrun Halo 3 to the first hurdle, much less the finish line.

Just because it's a new "innovative" game for the wii doesn't mean that the masses will flock to it and buy it in record numbers. And even if it does promote some good health, it still does not compare to an actual workout someone could do at a gym, or even a workout tape playing on their TV.

Although, I do bet that John Lucas will be there on Day One setting up his Wii Fit game, balance board and wearing some tight leotards with a big funky headband ready to get physical. ;)

My pokemon brings all the nerds to the yard. And they're like, "You wanna trade cards?" Damn right, I wanna trade cards. I'll trade this, but not my charizard.

Wii Fit WILL be a huge seller. Will it kill Halo 3? Doubt it.
Nop it wont, what happened to the wii zapper? Exatcly..

As I said in JL thread on Wii Fit, I think this game has serious potential to draw in new users (aging population in Japan, casual in Europe and us overweight NA) but ultimately it'll depend on how fun/fit it really is.

If it lives up the the hype it'll be HUGE. However, Halo 3 sales out the gate - no. Nintendo is just not bold enough to forcast those sales, to produce those # of units or ship them all to stores. Having stores with huge stockpiles of WiiFits because it didn't sell 1m in a week would give the impression it's a bomb.

A must-have for my Wii and household....Looks cool and a totally good addition to get my mom and sisters into the mix of gaming....

Conversation with my mother back in Montana:

"Hey mom, look at this game WiiFit!" "You love fitness, right?" "You should buy a Wii!"

"No virtual decay for me!" "I'll just stick to Pilates."

I love her.
