The $300 price point would be losing a ton of money for Sony at each console sold. It's already losing a lot at $400, and there is nothing more they can cut from the system.
It looks like a lot of numbers have been adjusted lately. Can anyone do a fresh tally of how the PS3 vs Xbox 360 have been doing since the race began?

It looks like the 360 hasn't lost a week in a long time, but it still has only a relatively small lead (about 10%) over the PS3. It *is* selling better than the PS3 world wide, though.
