I can't figure out if altareon weapons do more damage then the cannons do. I can never get a straight answer. Gamefaqs says to attack jhen with weapons but a lot of high rank players keep telling others to man the cannons.

Fun games saturday though you guys need to watch it with those upswings. You were starting to upset my gf with all those upswings XD.

Yeah I hope to be on tonight. I hope noname and cord get on so I can do some 4* quest. I finally got peco armor which i think I am going to gem with evasion and defense.

Attacking the weak points (the two scales) does more damage if your weapon is strong enough.  The reason that soem folks insist on manning the cannons is that most players' weapons probably add up to less damage than can be done with cannons, especially if you miss the jump or get knocked off.

That said, I attack the scales as much as possible, and leave bombs on the right tusks.  I'm also a fan of attacking the legs in the final phase, primarily to prevent Jhen from reaching the boat (more rewards is a nice bonus).  Only one person should be doing that part, though.

Noooooo the Jhen Mohran quests qre no more available... Au revoir, sturdy fangs. I've been on horrible teams, spammers who thought they were the best riding the Jhen for nothing. I managed to repel the Jhen with 3 disciplined guys in less than 1/4 an hour, we stuck on gunning. Going on its back is ok for mining some more mohran scales, but the cannons makes definitely more damage.

What is this about shooting its fangs ? Making the bombs explode on his heads do that ? 

Yes, although you can also shoot them off with ballista rounds.  It's just easier and more certain to place a bomb or two on each tusk, and let gunpowder do your work for you: you won't waste ballista shots (so the shooters can focus on the more vulnerable spots), and you do lots of damage with your bombs.
