I think for FF XIII it was the right choice by SE for a multi-platform 360/PS3 release. But I think for FF XVI it will be best to stay exclusive.

FF XIII was still designed for the PS2 initially in mind. Focussing on the PS3 with regard to FF XVI can allow for much more technical freedom.

FF14 will be on 360 once Microsoft and Square have agreed how it will work on Xbox Live.

you think?

i dunno FFXI didnt do very well on the X360 at all so its probably not viable for SquareEnix to make it for X360 yet. Its a given that an FF will sell on the PS3 and that an MMO will sell on the PC and the massive install games like this have aswel, which the PS3 will do from the BD and the PC will do from the HDD, you will need to have quite a lot of HDD space on the X360 like for FFXIII you did aswel given it was an 18.6GB install.

however knowing that FFXIII is on X360 it does a decent possibility.

End of 2014 Hardware Predictions (03/03/14)

PlayStation 4: 12-15million

Xbox One: 7-10 million

Wii U: 8-9 million (Changed 01/04/2014 from 7-9 --> 8-9 million)

Nice, not even the harsh reviews could stop it from selling. While it's not my favorite FF it doesn't deserve a score of 4, like that mongrel at Destructoid gave it.

The thing is if this game is going to have massive word of mouth like 7 had. Remember all the internet hate coming AFTER the release, it may be just a bad first reaction to innovation, but may be the definitive opinion.

The reaction in the west is very positive.

In Japan initial HATE may be strong, but it also got voted "best game ever" by famitsu magazine readers....so clearly the game isn't hated at all....its mostly vocal hate.

The world wide sales of FFXIII are awesome and FFXIII looks on track to best FFXII and hopefully get 6M+ sales.

The initial hate out of Japan from what I remember was mostlly from internet tralls living in Japan that hated the game anyway also. Also it still is annoying to hear people going on about SE downgrading FFXII because of the XBOX 360 when they did not there are still people that think the the Crystal Tools Engine is not the White Engine when SE said they renamed the White Engine Crystal Tools.

Ok, ok - looks like we massively undertracked FF XIII for some reason - our scalar ratios were way too low. Figures have been adjusted up in light on this data for Americas as well as more info we've had on France, Germany and Spain.

WOW!

Just logged on and saw FFXIII hitting 1 Million on PS3 alone this week, i'm VERY impressed with these numbers.

Thanks for the quick adjustment boss!

Yeah we were about 15-20% too low across the board it seems. When we chose scalars it is based on the type of game and how they scale from our samples to the whole market - we chose similar scalars to games like Resident Evil, Bayonetta etc but for some reason FF XIII obviously does better at more casual retailers than those titles do hence the adjustments.

you've made many of us very happy you get positive karma!

It's all about Microsoft. If they come to an agreement, it will arrive on the 360 for sure.

Congrats SE! That is awesome. While I may have been slightly dissapointed that the series went multi-plat, I am glad that it did. Allows for more sales, and insures that the series lives on!
