Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Am I the only one getting tired of seeing so much X360 hate on this forum?

I've noticed it MrStickball. The 360 catches it from both sides. PS3 owners seem to be pissed that the 360 is getting the game they bought their PS3 for and Wii owners seem to be agitated that the 360 is getting the support they feel the Wii should receive.

BTW Super_Etecoon, the moderator you didn't name must be Montana Hatchet.

Do you think Mass Effect will come to PC? I just got Gears of War and Viva Pinata. What other 360 games should I get for my PC...
I got Bioshock, oblivion, and most others too!

What's with all of the PC hate guys?

Here's a video from my band's last show Check out more (bigger) videos here http://www.youtube.com/user/icemanout

only look at hot topics

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

I think that maybe warnings or something should be issued to people who are going to troll it, but I'd find this similar to people who troll in other forum areas as well. Even further, the people who usually are never in the a thread to say anything good usually jump behind the "we're supposed to post our opinion" or you see a thread that says that the person isn't trying to bash a certain system. Thus, I'd say use moderator powers to talk to people as you see fit.

Also, I agree that it would be helpful to see the forum area that the threads on the mainpage reside in so you'd at least know where you're about to go to when you enter a thread.

so i didn't see this was in microsoft part forum thought it was in website discussion

I HATE THE XBOX!!!!!

oops, wrong thread.

Seriously, there is hate from all sides. The wii gets typical kids/waggle comments, the xbox the FPS machine comments and the ps3 the 4d gaming comments. Someone saying they wish atlus would do that for wii is not hate, its envy and it means its positive. Someone doubting some news is normal and not negative in any way.

Overall, why dont you look at it like this: If the system gets so much hate, it must be doing something right. otherwise no one would care for it.....

I see it. I am convinced that something needs to be done with the hot topics. A very high percentage of posts are made from a referral from the home page. If it were split up logically by forum, then you would cut down on people accidentally jumping in the wrong forum. Since it is visible which forum the post resides in, any trolling or flamebaiting would be able to be dealt with accordingly, as you would know what the posters intention was. Just a thought :)

It might be helpful if the "Hot Topics" listed the forum that messages are in. I know, it's right at the top of the article after you click, but once someone clicks on a topic, they are less likely to pay attention to what forum it is in. If people see it's in a forum for a platform they are not interested in, maybe they be less inclined to click on it.

Yeah, that could help.

Adding to what jlauro said, you seperate the Hot Topics by platforms and have a latest 10 topics for each sub-forum.  At a later date, every user must sign a consent not to post in another forum that isn't their chosen one...

I agree, the 360 side isn't well represented here. Unlike another forum (im looking to you Gamespot).

Stronger penalties on plain bashing without reason. Off topic stuff, and lists of games need to be stoped posted. I was gone for a few days, and I wonder how much this happens.

Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,

You know what? This isn't new. There will be bias no matter what you do or how much you point it out. Complaining about it only exacerbates the problem because you point it out to other people who in turn bitch about fanboyism every chance they get.

If the 360 was the generation leader and slowly pulling away, there'd be much more love, but as it is now, that's not the case. Red Ring? That's where a lot of the hate comes from. People get pissed that they're new $350 console is now a paper weight. I know!!! Surprising right?!

It's gonna happen, regardless of how much you point it out, regardless of how much you complain. You're not gonna make anyone go soul-searching for their inner PS360 fan.

I understand where your frustration comes from mrstickball, but you making a thread about this won't help the situation. If you feel this way, go out and recruit some 360 fans to join the site. Preaching to the choir typically doesn't solve anything.
