Hmm... Japan sales can be neglected..

First Week - 1.2 million
Break down - America 850k, Others 350k

LT - 4 million (I hope for 5)

Please note that ps2 had a huge base, even so it didnt manage to sell very great. PS3 selling like the Gamecube so I dont expect it to overpass 4 million. Lucky if it manages even 3 million.

Wait that does't make any sense about the pokemon bit? The main group of people that are buying Pokemon wouldn't even think about buying GoWIII. There both two completely different genres on two completely different systems why would that effect sales for either game?

Also we know userbase really doesn't matter for big games like Final Fantasy. Look at MGS4, it's approaching 5 million on a system with 5 times less hardware then the PS2, yet MGS4 has outsold MGS3 and is going to be close to MGS1 and 2.

Not really. You just can't generalize like that. I love both pokemon and god of war. OF course I don't think sales will be affected b/c they are on different consoles (Ds, handheld, Ps3, home console).

2010 MUST Haves: WKC, Heavy Rain, GoWIII, Fable III, Mass Effect 2, Bayonetta, Darksiders, FFXIII, Alan Wake, No More Heroes 2, Fragile Dreams: FRotM, Trinity: SoZ, BFBC2.

Older Need To Buys: Super Mario Bros. Wii, Mario Kart Wii, Deadspace, Demon's Souls, Uncharted 2.

There is definitely more to list that I want, but that's my main focus there.

looking at the way ps3 games have been selling recently, i think a huge game like god of war will have huge sales! 1.4 million first week is my guess. 5 million lifetime.
