Wait that does't make any sense about the pokemon bit? The main group of people that are buying Pokemon wouldn't even think about buying GoWIII. There both two completely different genres on two completely different systems why would that effect sales for either game?
Also we know userbase really doesn't matter for big games like Final Fantasy. Look at MGS4, it's approaching 5 million on a system with 5 times less hardware then the PS2, yet MGS4 has outsold MGS3 and is going to be close to MGS1 and 2.

Completely off with the pokemon statement... two very different markets...
And the ps2 comparison is completely off as well... gow2 came out after the ps3 and xbox360 systems were out and the ps2 had a massive game library...
This gow game is coming out at the starting part of the ps3 era and the library of games is quite small in comparison...
Plus the hype behind this one is night and day compared to the previous ones...
Look at MGS4 as an example... it sold over 5 million of the ps3 when mgs3 didn’t with a much larger ps2 market...
