I loved that game.
Lately I've been thinking of replaying it.

It's a new Zelda for crying out loud! But I never really took the time to go and just appreciate the game. Khuutra made a thread a while back about this very same topic, and now the topic pops up again. It's really making me want to go and just play this great game again (Hey, it's been since early 2007 since I last played it.) We'll see what happens. |
I strongly recommend it. I think everyone felt a little bit disappointed after their first run through, eventhough when i look back now I can't see why.
I have only played through it one time. At first I was a little disappointed in how a lot of things was very similar to OoT, but then I started to appreciate it more and more. I will play it again soon, after I've beat OoT and MM for the somethingth time.
I believe Twilight Princess will age very well, "like a good wine".
The more I play it the more "meh" it becomes.
Item usage outside of the dungeons they are found in is atrochious, Overworld is empty, and there is too little action and too little stuff to find in the overworld (And I'm not talking about bugs or shit like that, I'm talking about stuff that you can find that is actually useful like the Ice Arrow or Nayuru's love)
Also, the game is way too easy, I never died once while completing it (except for when I jumped off cliffs to see if it actually could kill me)
Ocarina of Time has aged far better and is superior in every regard except graphics.
I LOVE ICELAND!

I think Twilight Princess was a great game, but I have to agree with this post. I didn't spoil a single bit of the game beforehand and restrained myself from watching any trailers and the game turned out to be "meh," as stated above, which stuck on for any following playthroughs.
Played it three times and I'll agree it is indeed like a good old wine!
But i think it is more like a ritual, and every Zelda game I played is like
Twilight Princess....simply EPIC!!!
Replayed it recently and was surprised at how well it held up. It really is like the anti-Wind Waker.
I think my only real complaint is that the combat engine isn't ever exploited to it's fullest and the into sequence is waaay too long. The dungeons and subweapons rock though, best in the (3D) series imo. I'd say it takes longer to get going than OOT, but the game overall flows better and drags less. Polished to near perfection imo, it was a great send off for "traditional" 3D Zelda.
Personally, I loved it a lot the first time I played it through. Not sure if I loved it more or the same the second time through. But I never felt underwhelmed by it, and was quite frankly shocked that other people did, at the time.
TP is my most played game on the Wii. It gets better and better when you replay it. Such epicness.
why does that happen though? Maybe the more time passes we tend to compare it less and less with OoT and see it more for the game it is.
