As the title asks (assuming Nintendo will stick with the "Switch" name) what do you want out of the Switch 3?

I personally wouldn't want a third straight system that's basically the same thing with more power. I miss their more whacky consoles and think that in the long run it is better for the company to continue on with the tradition of using dated technology in novel ways. 

The rumors around the PS6 basically being a more powerful Switch back this idea up. For a few reasons, I think they'll have more success competing directly with Sony than they had with their more traditional home consoles, but overall they are going to lose a large portion of their market share if other big game companies decide to follow suit with their own "Switch" type consoles. 

Pokémon shows no signs of slowing down, so they should still be fine regardless.

Anyway, I'm kinda running out of steam and have to get back to work soon so I'll just jump to the my main point. I want Nintendo to give the Switch 2 a nice, long life and release a Switch 3 that is VR capable. I think if they wait until 2035 or so then the technology will be there to handle this, and I think that they will be the company to make VR truly mainstream. They would have to make it as seamless as possible to play so I think that it will come with joycons that have all the necessary tech to work as VR controllers and just come with some attachment to make them more comfortable. 

It can still be played on the tv or handheld as well, but now it can also switch to being a good VR headset. 

Release the system with a new Zelda ready to take advantage of this new set up and watch it explode into the market. This is what I want.

What do you think? Will they do this, or will they stick with just making a more powerful Switch? Or will they do something different?

Probably VR/AR capability and some more fitness integration.

On the operating system feature front:
→ Proper family sharing like Apple where you just get a game, application, or media, and your family can share it without all these weird hoops and conditions to navigate. This Virtual Card nonsense has caused me too much of a headache and is worse than how it worked before. Leave it up to devs if they want to activate family sharing or not.

→ I’d like to see more integration for various applications, kind of like what they started with Wii, 3DS, the QoL project, and Miiverse. I like the idea of having caloric burn estimates and such all in one place rather than scattered across different apps and consoles.

→ Options for software dissemination: If it is on Nintendo Online, give me the option to buy it as well if I don’t want a subscription service I don’t often use. Otherwise it’s just money on the table for those who won’t bite, and a bad experience for those of us who basically have to buy a month of subscription when we just want to play a game at our own pace.

→ Keep up with what Switch 2 has given us, like backwards compatibility that fully integrates with the new hardware and gives us a status of the software based on what model of Switch it is for. I really like this, the only thing I’d improve is encourage third parties to sell Switch 2 upgrades or provide them for free (even Kairosoft does this… why can’t Square?). Also, allow back versions for family members who don’t have the most up to date hardware.

More or less, anything on the theme of more customer convenience and control over their purchases. I don’t even care if this means things cost more or if family sharing has an added fee, just that the options and features are there.

I do just more or less want another Switch console like Switch 2 has been. Some features I would like in Switch 3 could be integrated into Switch 2 already or at least Switch 2 Pro. Still, let's do this.
In no particular order,
-OLED Screen
-Achievements
-Dual-Screen Abilities: Have one image on the display and another on the console screen itself. DS and 3DS games on NSO please.
-24 GB LPDDR5. I feel for Switch 3, 32 GB will be overkill but 16 GB is too low. 20 GB would be nice; 24 GB is nicer.
-VR. Unless Nintendo can make it affordable, it should be a separate purchase like PSVR and PSVR2 is.
-NVMe SSD. Switch 2's load times aren't bad. But it would be nice to get it closer to the blazing fast speed of PS5 and Xbox Series.
-In general, I want Switch 3 to be comparable to PS5 in docked mode at minimum. Ideally, I want it to come close to that in handheld mode.
-The return of StreetPass and a pedometer (Play Coins), and a detailed Activity Log like 3DS.
-Media apps. Still no sign of YouTube on Switch 2.
-It better still have physical games, even if some or all of them need to install to the SSD instead of running of the Game Card. And I'd still prefer an installation like that over Game Key Cards and codes in a box,

-Get with the times and have more robust online like the other consoles in terms of networking and such.

-Gifting your friends games and an acceptable refund system. At minimum, they should be like Xbox. Ideally, everyone would be like Steam. 

It to be something different than just being a third iteration of the Switch formula. As in, not a Switch 3, but something else entirely.
