Site is bugging, won’t let me post hardware data. Should have that up within the next fifteen minutes hopefully.

Astro Bot top 5? Yes!

I don't understand. Why is Astro Bot suddenly doing things?

I mean, fully deserved. But why?

Apologies for that. We think we might know the cause of it, but not sure how to fix it. Talked with our sysadmin and he says the site is getting scraped by bots. We are getting hundreds of requests per second, maybe tens of thousands per minute. That is causing the database to not keep up and causing things to temporarily overload.

Days of Play finished Jun 10th, so it's a bit strange to see it raise above what it was selling during the period with just 3 days of it this week.

Hopefully word of mouth has finally quicked in after some people picked it up during the sales period and now it keep selling through it.

Maybe Switch (either 1 or 2) not completely overshadowing Playstation as hardware sales are not fully focusing on it has finally gave room for some other stuff to be seen by more people? Really don't know.

All good— no need for apologies! Site’s a bit buggy at times, I get it (though maybe I haven’t been as merciful in the past about it… which yeah I’m really sorry about that. That’s on me). Glad to hear you guys are getting things sorted out.

Switch 2 goes back above 25k but only increased a bit so it looks like the general baseline could be in the 20's for the next period while the Switch 1 has its first sub 5k week so above 800k looked guaranteed this year but now it's up in the air if it'll reach 700k but either way this year will be it with it outright fully dying by early next year. Also just one more week till the PS5 starts doing decently YoY again.

I hope the coder and sysadmin are able to figure out a way to stop or at least limit the bots from scraping the site.

Two Switch 1 games are on top of the chart. I wonder if Nintendo reacts to the collapsed hardware sales after the price increase in Japan. If the US and Europe sales also drop -30% after the price increase in September, suddenly Switch 2 sales are not very healthy anymore for a console in its second year. Probably we would talk about 100k weekly global.
