PS5 so far holding better than I would have thought following the price increase. Especially PS5 Pro.

Yep. The DE seems to be helping a ton, but the other models are holding up quite well as well. I remember making a thread about this actually... consumers often times will find a way to make things work. Some will be priced out, sure, but a majority will continue to stick around. Especially if they see possibility for further price hikes and its a product they feel they might want to purchase sometime in the future.

Switch 1 and Tomodachi Life both slaying !!

The Japan only PS5 DE I was expecting to be the vast majority of sales, but it doesn't appear to be the case. At least not yet.

There will always be a portion of the audience who are just high income anyway. The good thing in Japan is that there is an affordable entry point.

In rest of the world I that entry market will be waiting on deals. In the end I don't think it will negatively impact PS5 totals too much because I think we will just crazy elastic/high sale weeks when it eventually does have promotional price cuts

Pragmata doing well over all, looks like it will be a 100k hit.

Interesting that the PS5 version is doing disproportionately better. Once again reinforces the idea IP familiarity isn't really the issue with AAA games on Switch 2, the audiences' just aren't as interested in the genres and aesthetics, or conversely cross platform owners prefer to play those titles on PS5. I don't think this will change drastically throughout the generation and is the reason why Playstation is in such a distant 2nd place in this market, but it will maintain this core niche until at least the Switch 3 comes out.

How is the PS5 Pro still being sold in Japan after the price hike?
