I'm not keen on console wars. 

I wish wholeheartedly ps5 to approach ps4 sales, which i consider it kinda good, it needs to reach 8m this year for that target.

I often try to refute claims about mass imports of ps5, based on its software sales at retail (simply many Playstationers in Japan might have gone fully digital and that it is easily ignored from some people). 

I have made a thread about 1m+ total sales of ns being imports, explaining the gap between total shipments and famitsu total sales.

Nintendo has made an effort to prevent importing of NS2, so i don't think so.

Also, 90 less isn't as much as big deal as 140 less obviously.

Stores that are importing won't benefit much(stores are mostly the importers, not consumers). 

They buy cheaper and sell a bit higher, but still lower than the fixed price of each country. 

It happens with  smartphones from China for instance.

I always wonder what are the shipping fees and import taxes.

Ps5 package weighs 7 kilos.

It depends on the courier and shipping methods, but a quick look suggests that shipping a PS5 Pro to EU/US is in the ballpark of 6000-8000 yen? Its a big, heavy box, which adds to the costs.

From there, it heavily depends on how the taxes and import duties (and tariffs) of the destination country are handled

As an example, The Netherlands charges 21% VAT and 0% import duty on electronics, calculated over the value + shipping cost of the item. The MSRP + shipping costs of a PS5 Pro from Japan is ~145000 yen, which is ~790 EUR. Adding VAT, this becomes 790 + 790 x 0.21 = ~955 EUR. Couriers/Retailers typically charge extra service costs for processing import taxes on your behalf, so the final price may be higher than this.

Provided that the PS5 Pro is readily available at MSRP (which it is), there is really no reason to import one from Japan to The Netherlands.

Tomodachi is going strong and so is Pokopia for that matter. Considering we are coming to Golden Week, both games could be passing 1M physical in the not too distant future.

When did the price hike start again?

Officially it started April 2 in Japan, though, retailers took a while before they increased it.

Yeah both games should sell liek hotcakes during Golden Week. 

Also, of note, RE Requiem on Switch 2 (physical at least) continues to outleg the PS5 version; will be interesting to see if Pragmata follows this trend as well.

Similar to last week just with the Switch 1 starting to return to normal and the PS5 Pro going up again for whatever reason. For the Switch 2 it'll be nice to see the impact of its first Golden Week.
