With so much discussion nowadays focusing on the things MS/Xbox gets wrong, what do you feel are their strengths as a console platform that they get right?

Backwards compatibility is an obvious one. As far as I know, it's not perfect but it's still pretty great. It's not enough to make me get an Xbox, but I do appreciate that aspect a lot.

BC of course. I like their controller the most. Quick Resume is great.
360 era they helped lead the industry with their indie program.

Achievements and monthly achievement leaderboards for all the people on your friends list. Friends list is also implemented better than on other consoles.
Much better selection of third party keys for digital games (i.e cheaper games) than Nintendo and Sony.
Free cloud saves.
Better analog stick layout than Sony (although DualSense as a whole is better).
If they had kept first party games exclusive, for me that would be a more appealing lineup than Sony’s.
Console-PC cross-buy and/or cross-save for some games.
Game Pass.
Most generous refund policy among consoles as I understand it.
Personally I would rather have seen Xbox survive than Playstation.
Xbox should go down as the company that fostered the internet age. No, they didn't do it first. But they did it right. And everyone sort of followed their lead.
Whether or not you believe that was a good move, well... that's another discussion.
They have my favorite controller in all of gaming. I use it on my PC.

Strong disagree. They charged, with is flatly wrong, and others followed. Online should be free. Only one doing online right and that is PC.
Unless you mean something else by internet age.

-Free cloud saves
-Backwards compatibility. The Xbox and Xbox 360 games require a download on Xbox One and Xbox Series due to emulation, but they are welcome.
-Gifting games to friends like Steam allows.
-Friends list and interaction are probably better than PlayStation and obviously better than Nintendo.
-They still let you play CDs. PlayStation dropped that with PS4.
