Resident Evil 9 released a couple of days ago, but it seems to be doing some crazy numbers on Steam. At least according to SteamDB. At that moment, Requiem has 93% positive rating based on over 55k reviews. Other than praising the game for it's atmosphere, people are also impressed by how good the optimization is, since RE9 is running even on low-end machines.

Still according to SteamDB, Requiem has peaked 344,214 players yesterday. Sales info are still not really accurate, but Playtracker estimates that 1,36 million Steam users have the game in their library. Also, Requiem is currently #1 at Steam top-sellers.

Well, it seems like Capcom did it again. Man, they're really on fire with their Resident Evil projects.

If things keep going like that, Requiem will probably become one of the top-sellers Resident Evil games.

Dang, I never realized how big of a deal Resident Evil is. I knew this was going to be a pretty big, but nothing like this!

I double dipped on this one. Have the Switch 2 and Steam version. Steam version looks gorgeous at 4k DLSS Balanced with path tracing and max settings. Just played the first hour and half on my 5090 (which I rarely use for games; mostly use it for Deep Learning experiments) and it looks and runs great. The game feels and looks like a CG Movie at times.

Haven't touched the Switch 2 version yet (been replaying RE Village on that), but anticipate that it will look great in handheld from what Digital Foundry and others have said and given how great RE8 looks. Even compared to the PC and PSVR2 versions it holds up.

My partner is new to gaming, and is used to the Switch 2 now so it isn't a huge loss to have double dipped, since we share all games between our Switch 2's and he is most comfortable with that platform now.

Edit: Just started it in handheld mode on SW2 just out of interest. Wow, it actually holds up well. 

I wanted to get it for my PS5 Pro on Saturday, but it was actually sold out at my local store. So I got the generation pack thing on Switch 2 instead, lol.
Seems to be doing pretty good from what I can tell.

Planning to get it on Switch 2 soon.
Will actually be my first Resident Evil game!
