Forums - Nintendo - Kirby Air Riders, out now on Switch 2

Directed by Masahiro Sakurai of Smash Bros fame and co-developed by Bandai Namco, the game is a Switch 2 exclusive arcade racing and combat game, successor to the 2003 Gamecube title Kirby Air Ride.

I didn’t have the highest of hopes for this one after it was announced, but following that Direct I’m sold. The gameplay is compelling and Sakurai’s enthusiasm is infectious.

This may blow Mario Kart World out of the water for me lol

You called down the thunder, now reap the whirlwind

There's the holiday title, which Legends Z-A probably shares as well.
It looks really good and hopefully it doesn't get last minute delays like Brawl did.

Nice. Havent watched the direct today or that much footage.

But I'm likely getting the game sometime next year as much as I love the Kirby series.

The tracks look pretty crazy and fun, but Im not paying more than 50 bucks for this. It will probably be 70 though.

Kirby Air Riders looks fantastic, but $70 is steep. I never played the original, but I loved Smash Run in Smash 3DS, and that was inspired by City Trial.

Too chaotic for my taste, but I'm happy that the game exists.

The Direct was nuts. I went from not caring at all about the game to really wanting to play it.

Too bad it will probably be 80 euros physical (sure, 65-70 at some retailers, still too expensive for me).

Nintendo somehow went from being the cheapest company to buy games on release to being on par or even more expensive than the rest. That, in return, made me go from buying several new games a year to skipping some games I'm interested on and that on the Switch 1 era would have been day 1 purchases (DK Bananza, now Kirby...).

This game showed all the fun I would have expected from a new Mario Kart.

The big problem could be that Kirby in general targets children, but the game itself seems to be more complex and difficult to play than Mario Kart. So there is a contradiction between the characters / graphic style and the demanding gameplay.
