Forums - Politics Discussion - This is the type of propaganda you'd see in North Korea

Except it's not in N.Korea. It erodes the people's ability to recognize truth and hold government accountable.

She left CNN yesterday, now today she made her debut on Trump TV sharing "the real news".

Every time I'm on mobile, this website has adds for "libertynation" with a banner of Kim Jong Un, and it says "Get your news without the propaganda"

Which is really ironic, because propping yourself up against other nations to seem reliable is literally what the North Koreans do.

freedom of speech and press is great and all, but we need to educate people to spot lies and truth better.

Well to be fair that's something we need for all channels.

I think what defeats the point of this thread, is that even though it's a good lesson, it's not nearly as mischevious and misleading as channels that don't advertise a particular perspective, or even if they do it's a big perspective with multiple narratives(like conservative news/Fox news, or liberal news) rather than a linear one like this, and then tell lies. It's easier to be duped when there aren't big red flags.

Sure, this is a lot like advertising in North Korea. You want to know the difference? They don't have a choice in Korea. If you're a person who goes out of their way to watch news specifically sponsored by Trump, you're already putting aside any alternative view points, or facts that contradict his narrative. It's a given. It's not like he's controlling every news channel, or buying out CNN in secret and hiring new newsreporters. This is a video that simply is for people who already follow Trump, so it fails at any real deceptiveness because anyone with any political awareness would avoid news coming straight from the figure in question. It would be like a bill cosby news channel denying he's a rapist. Like yeah it's misleading, but it's a bill cosby news channel ... what are they going to say?

Dow Jones looks great and job growth is great but everyone with a brain knows that Trump didn't "create over one million jobs already" which would even include jobs created the first day he was president and even countries he threatens all the time economical have good numbers right now.

He is in such a lucky position to be president when USA's economy is on a rise since years already (also with the help of the world economy). Would have been fun to see him taking over in 2009, in a horrible situation and how he would have probably just let those responsible for the crisis do even more shit with even less regulations. Next downfall won't take too long with him but hey, let him mention even more how Mazda creates 4k jobs as if that would be anything to even talk about.

July job report added 209,000 jobs

This may sound impressive to anyone who doesn't get the context, but a simple bench mark can provide a bit more clue on how the American economy did under his presidency

According to the monthly job report of July 2016 (which is done by the US bureau of labour statistics if I'm not wrong), under Obama's presidency, the economy recorded 291,000 new jobs

So 291,000 VS 209,000

That's a little awkward since he claims that he's bringing the economy back on track using this argument

Also, I did not dig into this, I hope this is the net gain, otherwise it's a totally redundant argument.

Edit: this is probably not the net gain since WSJ estimates that a minimum growth of 145K per month is needed to keep the job market expanding in the US, meaning that the net gain is roughly 64K, compared to Obama's 146K, that's less than a half of what his predecessor did. This dude doesn't know the meaning of awkward.

Is this real life?

Lol, I'm just through with Trump news. I had to stop watching it because it was literally making me sick. I just pretend he doesn't exist, until I die from not having health care.
