Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima shared a small update on the company’s quality of life initiative during a press conference. The device intended to measure sleep quality was originally planned for March, but was moved to April or beyond due to development lagging behind.

Kimishima shared a tiny tidbit about the 3DS as well. He mentioned that the system had trouble raising sales during the year-end holiday season, though digital download games and amiibo figures sold favorably.

I think maybe they are too late to make their mark in QOL. I wanna see what their non-wearable approach is, since the current wearable market is flooded.

I had their WiiU Fit Meter and used it for a year, but that thing would fall off or get lost. In the end I put it in my trouser pocket for a time and it got machine washed by accident... twice. The second time it died (surprised it survived the first time xD).

Now I have smartbands to substitute this. A Samsung Gear Fit and a Xiaomi Mi Band. The Gear I use as a smart watch, but the Mi band as an activity and sleep tracker. The Mi Band works great for its measly 10eur price!

They are taking too much time to finish this. If this was released after the Wii's lifespam, when everyone still remembered the Wii and all the news about how healthy it is and how hospitals and therapy centers use it for their patients, it would be way more talked about. But at this point, it has fallen into obscurity.

i completely forgot this existed. maybe the need to come out with a new home console so quickly has caused a shift of resources from QoL to the NX, thus causing the delay.

Does anyone seriously even care anymore?

I'm still rather intrigued, anything that makes health & fitness into something fun rather than a chore sounds good in my book.

I wonder how much money they put in research into this idea.. :/

Uh, I thought maybe they would implement some of its ideas on NX. I guess not then.

I'll probably won't buy this thing, whatever it is, but I'm curious to hear more about it. I mean, we don't even know exactly what it is.
