Why "Game of Thrones" for family? All I've been hearing about GoT are incest XD

Game of Thrones is a wildly popular show and honestly, it's pretty good. Yes, there's some brother-sister relations in the show which makes the story more interesting overall. There's plenty of good shows where there was aspects or episodes that I wish I could unsee. You should watch it.

If the show does really well then it will drive a lot more casual's interest into zelda and help nintendo out in the long run.

It's recognisable, simple and writes itself. So it makes sense for Netflix.

The timing makes no sense for Nintendo though. Nintendo's been clear so far that ventures into phones and other media are to service and sell their console business. If they haven't got a writer yet, it'd be unlikely to air before the 2015 Zelda game comes out.

It's not like Zelda games are generational though: missing 2015 won't mean a whole lot.

"As it seeks writers to work on the show, Netflix is describing it as “Game of Thrones” for a family audience, this person said." - http://www.wsj.com/articles/BL-SEB-86552

If I'm not mistaken, isn't Game of Thrones about the poltica and family rivalies in medieval time mixed with sex including incestuous one?

How is the LoZ going to be family friendly version of this show? Netflix doesn't know anything about Zelda or Game of Thrones it seems.

They've both got, like, swords and magic and stuff. Close enough.

It sucks that this was leaked in the early, early conceptual phase. Even if it actually goes through, it likely won't be finished for several years. Would've been better to hear about it for the first time like 6 months before it aired.

I think this will happen and it will come out in 2017-ish.

2015 to get the writing staff and write the first few episodes, 2016 for principal photography + effects, air date in 2017. Maybe sooner.

Then again Netflix turned around Marco Polo pretty quickly and that has a pretty hefty budget too. So who knows. Depends on how quickly they can find a writing staff I guess.

If they're shooting by this summer it could premiere as quickly as next year.

Why not? Nintendo's honestly been a bit silly in letting huge IP like Mario and Zelda that everyone knows stick only to video games especially on consoles that a lot of people don't own.

Now these IP can reach out to a much bigger audience, 60 million-ish households have Netflix worldwide, meaning a Zelda TV series could bring in millions of new fans and reignite the interest of a lot of lapsed fans.

The Mario CG movie should go ahead too. A lot of kids are not growing up with Nintendo hardware anymore, you need a new way to reach them with these characters.

If true, great news! Netflix are amazing at making series and The Legend of Zelda has a strong mythos to build upon.

I'm pretty sure Nintendo will kill the project at the first disagreement with Netflix. They're way too overprotective of their IPs.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Excuuuuse me pricess!

Moments to remember will ensue.
