Forums - Politics Discussion - What does Putin want with Ukraine

What is his end state

Annex Ukraine As a whole 337 40.60%

Annex Crimea 286 34.46%

Defend Russian People Fro... 184 22.17%

No, Putin wants entire Ukraine, there's no practically sense in getting only Crimea. But if you think that military way is the only way, so yes, there'll be none aside of Crimea :D

Putin may want all of the Ukraine, but he would be stupid to try to go and get it.  Learn from the US, occupation is not fun.

Who said occupation?

I am convinced that are leaders in europe that are honestly concerned about the humanitarian situation in Ukraine. Of course, their duty is for the people of their country though. It doesnt mean they are these inhumane people you paint them out to be. None of these people will be in power in 10 years, they dont have any nefarious agenda. Thats not something that can be said about the current leader of russia.

And you call others easily manipulated.

Your reply made no sense. You think every country has rulers that are coniving and plotting? Every single country in the EU? I am sure the german and franch ones are, but thats also cause they have the control. The rulers of smaller countries in the EU have rulers that dont need to play that game. Your one sided view or precedents justify the means is very skewed.

That and these conspiracy theories are far fetched. Without proof its very difficult to believe some of the convenient reports. If Puttin goes to war based on that, he wont be any better than Bush.

Well it would be in the West eyes as they would not acknowlege it as part of Russia.  No matter the terminology, west Ukraine will fight using guerilla warfare long after their primary military is destroyed.

Oh, what with yours obsession to make Russia bigger as if it's not big enough, people? Why part of Russia for god's sake? Have the revolts in Southern and Eastern Ukraine against Kiev missed your attention? Just tell me who from Western Ukraine will fight in guerilla war and against whom?

In one hour Yanukovich will speak from Rostov. Interesting, what his speech will be about...

Again, I never claimed Putin is better than Bush, in the contrary. But if you can't see the western influence (and even with different agendas from EU and US, even in my opinion ifferent agendas by different european countries) and if you can't see that western media is reporting one-sided and basically doing a propaganda-job - then I don't know. Yes, maybe some of the smaller EU-countries have no interest in the Ukraine and are acting honest. The bigger countries for sure do not - otherwise there would be much more possiblities to help people in the world. I only say Africa. And no, bombs aren't helping.

Your the one who said Putin wants entire Ukraine.  If he attempts to take the whole country, there are plenty ready to defend their country.

"Want" != territorial gains let alone military occupation, comprende?

Did you not see the video of Ukrainian soildiers "unarmed" confronting the Russian soldiers and the warning shots being fired from the Russians.

Do you mean this episode?

Not only I've seen this, but I knew about the provocation hours before it was in the news  from people on the ground. Do you realize this is staged act and Ukrainian officers were absolutely sure they won't be shot dead?

Funny fact. 7 years ago Ukraine (mr Yatsenjuk!!!) supported Kosova saying that the 'final desision is the full souvernity'...

YOU said Putin wants it all of Ukraine.  NOT ME.   So you would be the one with an obsession of a larger Russia.      I am only say IF thats true it would be considered an occupation by the international community.

IF i want your wife that doesn't means that I've raped her already. Putin may WANT Ukraine back, but until he didn't do something you can't blame him. )))
