What was the answer they should have given?

If you're not in a supported region then you can't use the product, what's the big issue. Either wait till it is available or buy a competitors product. Its quite clear a company representative cannot say it should be fine to import and use in the wrong region. This is not arrogance its common sense, which seems lacking in this thread.

Telling the truth isn't a mistake, unless you happen to be Sony.

They could have at least called him a Sony fanboy or a stealth troll at the end. Now it looks like they don't care at all...

Customer support is hamstrung to NEVER, EVER, EVER give a negative response to anything said, outside of it blowing up on the Internet, and making the company look worse.  So, you get nothing about calling someone a troll or fanboy or smacking them.  Idea is to have some sort of bland positivity that blurs the complaint to where everyone loses track of what the complaint is about.

Yeah well, that was supposed to be a joke :P seems I failed at it...

I didn't take it as a joke, because my experience with Microsoft Customer Service is that they don't really seem to care, so my focus was on agreeing with that, rather than realizing that you were joking about smacking down the person.

That's not very good to hear, nevertheless that was intended to be a joke, did not realise it had some truth within it

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

didnt this guy hear what don mattrick said? just buy a 360.

To be fair, i think that's just a "cover your ass" response. It didn't say that it wouldn't work in unsupported countries, just that there was no guarantee, just like how "unsupported" peripherals "might not" work on consoles, but usually they do. It's just Microsoft's way of saying don't sue us, developing nation peoples. Likely acquiring an extra-national account would succeed.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

the guy on twitter couldnt have said anything better. but this just shows the fucked up situation that microsoft has made for them selfs and for their costumers that even their twitter is basically saying wait or get a ps4
