Square Enix dug into the Eidos vault and pulled out two PsOne games for re-release on PSP and PlayStation 3. Urban Chaos and the survival horror meets RPG mix Fear Effect 2: Retro Helix are making a digital comeback.

The news comes from PEGI, Europe’s rating board, which re-rated both titles for PlayStation 3. Unless Square Enix is planning on a remake, Europe will get both PsOne titles as PlayStation Network downloads  in the near future.

Ahh.... Square, please dig deeper and revive Fear Effect Inferno :(

Fear Effect 1and 2 are among my fondest PS1 experiences. I still own them and I'm tempted to blow the dust off but I bet they're virtually unplayable, now. Graphics were basically looping animation with cell shaded characters. The puzzles and story were very cool, too (especially FE2). Worth checking out if you've never seen them, though.

I bought the second one not that long ago. Haven't tried it yet though, still want to play the first game first. How about bringing that to PSN first?

I thought the game wasn't very good. It looked really nice. Had an amusing story and had the PG13 lesbian scene.
