This guy must be a rich hardcore gamer...He chose  to leave the company when he saw that the present staff of the company are destroying one of the best gaming franchises in history.

It pained me when Square had to merge with Enix because of financial difficulties.I grew up with the Final Fantasy franchise and I always cared to see Squares next step... But this pains me even more.They don't care about game depth anymore. All they care about is money. Tetsuya Nomura makes deals with Fashion Companies for Noctis' dress robe. Well I dont give a f. about that. What I care about is the story ,the emotions and the depth the old Final Fantasies provided me.

Since Sakaguchi left things are going downhill.

And they were planning to merge with enix even before the movie failed.

Sad to see SE fall from grace. At least the Sqaure half. Just a few years ago they were making awesome games like Final Fantasy X and Kingdom Hearts I. Now they are going to ruin their best franchise with a poorly executed online MMORPG. And for the record, FFXIII was great.

well it shows, that other stockholders don't necessarily share his viewpoint. As well as Square-Enix getting record profits last year... so profit wise they aren't hurting...

games wise they haven't made as many good games (Imo ofcourse) but they still make plenty. Like say TWEWY, probably the most creative JRPG in uhh many many years. And it was sakaguchi that started "the fall" himself with the FF movie that was completely his project.

was 14 that bad??? for one bad thing square does they do one good thing. I like what they've done with Eidos Lara Croft and Just Cause 2 are good games not sure about Kane and Lynch 2

Lara Croft is one of my favorite games this gen... Kane and Lynch2 not so much :P

I dont care if the rest of the stockholders dont share his point of view.Because he ddint make this move because of loss of money...He did it because he is obviously a gamer and has principles.

You dont think that Square Enix has many good games? Try playing FF IV,V,VI,VII,VIII,IX,X ,XII ,Crono Trigger and Xenogears. Many of them have been included in lists of the greatest games of all time.

And as for Sakaguchi,he was the mind behind the companies greatest titles.You obviously miss the point here.I dont care if the company loses or earns money .What I was talking about was quality,not profit.
