Is a smashlike game too complicated for mobile?

in Gaming Discussion, last active on on 14 February 2015

I've been working on creating  a touch control scheme for games on mobile that doesn't have the same issues that infuriate me when trying to play more action oriented games.  I was wondering if you guys could take a look and tell me what you think. It's an early work in progress so there are obviously some issues.  Player 2's...

Tepid about joining the 8th gen home console market.

in Gaming Discussion, last active on on 29 December 2014

Please tell me I'm missing some games that might appeal to me. Listed below in order of importance are the types of games I tend to buy consoles for: Fitness games. Sadly I don't like Wii Fit calling me obese and I dont like games as a service so even though Xbox fitness looks absolutely fantastic I wont buy in if I can't just buy the software outright.  Character Action Games. Wii U...

I think Nintendo Should Double Dip

in Nintendo Discussion, last active on on 11 June 2014

Looking at the exciting new Splatoon it reminds me very much of what I would have thought of as Super Mario Paintball.  I can completely understand Nintendo scrubbing Mario and company from the experience to appeal to a wider audience. It worked well with Wii Sports, Play, Party etc.  I am in no way mad at that.   Would it be profitable for them to double dip?  I bet up to...

How long before Xbox Division is no longer integral to MS long term vision?

in Gaming Discussion, last active on on 21 July 2014

I ask this because of the seeming 180s that MS have been making on things it once saw as integral as of recent.  I'm sure everyone remembers the DRM being integral before being dropped before the console launched.   Recently i'm sure many are aware of the Kinectless SKU incoming. Their defense for bundling it was that it was integral to the platform that all developers had one....

    Very Positive Hands-on with Okamiden

in Nintendo Discussion, last active on on 20 April 2010 This game continues to look better and better. The partner system seems well thought out.  Only bad news is it wont reach American shores until 2011.   Be sure to click on the link. It has vids and i'm far to lazy to learn to embed them right now. ...

Have you been overshot by game developers yet?

in Gaming Discussion, last active on on 18 December 2009

Just honestly curious.  Malstrom loves to talk about how consumers are being overshot and i'm just curious as to who around here feels that way.  I know that since this is an internet poll i'm more likely to get people who aren't but i'm still curious.  I'm not.  I like a lot of where gaming is going. I think it's still fun and having played games all my life I could care less...

Why Sony should skip the next console iteration

in Sony Discussion, last active on on 24 November 2009

First of all this is from someone who is a  big Sony fanboy more or less. Sony needs to keep manufacturing the PS3 forever so that at some point it can achieve profitability.  A new home console any time soon isn't in their best interest as it will be more expensive than the PS3 is now.  What they need is more reason for people to purchase PS3's forever.  My answer to the...

    SingStar Motown

in Sony Discussion, last active on on 09 November 2009

Is this game coming to America?  I can't find a solid release date when googling.  I had heard somewhere the 10th of Nov.   That seems to be incorrect.  I would prefer not to import but if SCEA isn't going to get it here in time for my family's Singstar party I will.  Anyone know whats up with one of my most anticipated titles this year?...

    LBP PSP Loses Multiplayer

in Sony Discussion, last active on on 19 August 2009

Sadly this pretty much ruins the game for me.  I really wish they didn't compromise on such a prominent feature of the original.  Maybe  LBPPSP2.

    LBP loses multiplayer!

in Sony Discussion, last active on on 19 August 2009

Someone please tell me this isn't true.  I can't say that I know i'm going to purchase this game anymore.  Multiplayer means a lot and if games like Resistance can offer online and adhoc multiplayer I don't see why LBP can't.

    LBP PSP a few concerns

in Sony Discussion, last active on on 09 July 2009

The paintinator greatly added to the depth of the LBP formula making for a more action oriented gameplay and stealth.  How will it be handled without a second analog stick? Not relying on lives system to create difficulty.  I like the frequency of checkpoints but i don't feel like failure should mean me having to repeat the entire sequence as opposed to just the part i suck at. Will...

    Where is Bushido Blade 3?

in Gaming Discussion, last active on on 07 July 2009

Did this series not sell well enough to garner a sequel? Looking at the video's of sword fighting in WSR make me think that with some better artstyle we could easily have a new Bushido Blade game on our hands.  Think with all the motion controllers coming Square Enix might delve into thier past portfolio for a quick cash in? I want broken legs and arms back if they do....

    DS to PSP porting

in Gaming Discussion, last active on on 26 June 2009

The recent announcements about GTA chinatown wars got me wondering about the feasibility of said practice.  Could this be a cost effective way of increasing revenue for the smaller devs and publishers?  They could release it online to create an even higher margin on the product to not have to worry about the shipping of physical disks and sales volume. I know that not every game will...

LBP DLC: I changed my mind

in Sony Discussion, last active on on 21 January 2009

I recently purchased the MGS DLC Level Kit for LBP.  I was quite awesome and well worth the $6.50 i payed for it.  It's amazing how they managed to distill the essence of MGS into LBP.  On top of that I feel like the stealth was quite fun and worked amazingly well with the layers which most people complain about.   Most importatnly it also gives Sackboy his second power up...

    Console and Handheld Connectivity

in Gaming Discussion, last active on on 09 October 2008

Why haven't we seen more of this.  Playing FF:CC on the gamecube was a joy(sans the sadness it gave to the pockets of my friends and I) even though a bit shallow.  I was hoping to see far more interaction this gen since we have such powerful and wireless handhelds.  I know we have remote play for the PS3/PSP but it's been really hasn't been utilized too much as far as games...

Games you wish Capcom would port to the Wii

in Nintendo Discussion, last active on on 27 September 2008

I wish Capcom would port Shadow of Rome to the Wii.  I could see motion controls making an already fun and visceral combat system even more intense. *Actually whipping during chariot races *Shaking the controller to perform big moves instead of mashing the button quickly *and chopping  motion for attacks *pointer accuracy for bows *Add a few more scenarios and maybe take out the...

    Ape Escape

in Sony Discussion, last active on on 18 September 2008

Will we ever see a new AE title?  I loved that series of games. Ape escape and it's sequels for me defined how fun 3d platforming could be by  focusing on making our interactions with the enemies more fun, varied and complex.  I would love to see what they would do with the addition of six-axis controls.   P.S. why don't any of the psp ape escape titles come to America? ...

Using usb peripherals to help cut down piracy

in Sony Discussion, last active on on 04 September 2008

I'm surprised that they didn't release a version of guitar hero world tour with a usb peripheral for the psp. having gimmicky hardware is an easy way to help cut down on piracy. I mean who wants to play guitar hero just using the psp buttons? If well thought out i could see a few companies making a quite a penny without having to worry as much about piracy, and for around the price of developing...
