I just got into Novigrad, but I'm not done Velen yet, just out-leveled it. Right now I'm just playing rather freely, but trying to limit it to quests that I'm rather close in level to. Novigrad made sense (as I'm about level 13).

So far, I haven't come across any bugs yet with the exception of a crash that's about 15 to 25% repeatable upon closing the game.
Switch 2 version, which probably isn't experiencing the same volume of bugs as the higher fidelity versions because it's using more heavily tested tech.

I will say that the battle system took some adjustment, but once I got comfortable with targeting among large numbers of enemies, I doubt I could go back.

I have one peeve with the design (and it's not a justifiable one😄), but before they had a skill that basically auto-deflected all arrows... granted, that was a likely placeholder mechanic since it basically trivialized a major part of human combat, but they replaced it with a deflection skill which (I believe) auto-kills the enemy if successful. My issue is that while I love the parry game it's rather limited to the melee combat. I have no interest (at this time) for hitting the button at the right time to deflect arrows. So, while it is (admittedly) a more logical mechanic, I fucking hate it! 😄

Seriously, though, thanks to the new targeting, a viable strategy is targeting and neutralizing the archers first. So in reality, it has probably made the combat a little more interesting. So, while I don't really like the arrow deflection mechanic, there is an alternative way to handle things. Plus, it frees up some skill points.

I agree, that was a great skill but feed into adrenaline, those two passives and half the red skill tree and you'll never need for quen against archers. Maxed out, it's like one hit and you can hit a sign, sometimes multiple if you're in a bigger fight and you can spam Quen while also being able to cast other signs. There is a new skill with the remaster that uses your maxed out adrenaline for a refill of HP should you hit zero so instant extra life. It's made an already easy death March experience into something that feels like story mode.

Edited. Oh I spoke too soon. It works until Eridin. This fuckers tough.

Edited again. Nah, he was still a pushover with adrenaline build up.
