@HoloDust That's an excellent way to see it. However I prefer to understand it is a minor update to detail for a heavy performance on base ps5. It's not that bad but now they have glitches where then Next Gen patch was perfected. Now they have to patch again as always.
I don't blame them, it'd just be nice for a toggle and yet I find the visual change which mostly just lighting updates to feel fresh and feel newer along with the free lock on now and switching to direct log on instead of fighting the soft lock on all time.
I think the skill tree is the best of this raster..it makes it so I can't break the game by doing adrenaline passives with sword fighting or what not. And with that it feels far more challenging before, tbh I don't know if I'll beat the bottle chokes like the Chrones kountain stuff.
Whatever the case, the kinks will be ironed out and the performance and negatives aren't severe downsides. It's simply nice to see the landscape in this new style and esspecially night... omg, night graphics are insane or the lighting is insane.
I'ma play another 150+ hours to wipe this map clean and not miss a thing, even every schools armours and swords. |
From what I've seen (I haven't installed it myself, don't have time to play TW3 again), there are things that look nice in Remaster - but given that I already felt back in 2015 that TW3 is less painterly than what I was hoping for (which is what early concept art back in days was showing), this Remaster only distance it from that ideal even further, at least for me. If there's one thing that I hope will come out of this DLSS 5 crap, it's that someone trains some model on paintings of someone like Claude Lorrain or J.M.W. Turner, cause that's what I personally like to see more in games, not photorealism. |
Sorry. I must disagree. It has gotten far more painterly in the remaster cause of this shean lighting effect, it has the same effect you see in Elden Ring. The only place it doesn't is the swamp in Velen. At night it is ludicrously painterly. I can't tell if it's a good thing or not, it's just different. I have seen points in the game where the lighting has hit right onto effects and it looks better than most games this decade. Moonlight is consistently painterly and looks like that game Ghost of New Eden if you've tried that.
