To be honest I think 256GB is actually fairly generous of Nintendo in spec, I was expecting less maybe 128GB. Yes I know the new key card cartridges mean the storage is under greater pressure but I still think its a good and with a 256GB express sd card too that is 512GB of storage on the move. That to me seems a perfectly usable setup for storing a wide range of games. Personally I probably only need about 5 games stored at a time anyway and once I complete or get bored of a game it gets deleted. The 32GB of the original Switch seems far more restrictive in comparison. I mean Skyrim was like 16GB or something and some of the space was taken by the operating system. The Switch felt like it needed additional storage straight away.

Yep. I never needed really needed to use the card until I bought one third party AAA game (or three depending on how you look at it) GTA trilogy remastered and it would have ate all internal storage at somethign lime 27gb. The Switch 2 is probably better in that regard for sure straight out the gate or very close.

Edit: Nope, you're wrong here. Switch 2 can hold 3 Split fictions max after OS being accounted for or Split fiction, Cyberpunk and Hitman and perhaps a first party Nintendo game could fit in there too. Switch one could easily hold 5 or 6 third party games on internal storage, I know cause I had 6 or 7 installed before I got the expansion card in 2020.
