because it's not playstation buying from software. it's sony group buying a multimedia company that happens to be their parent company. it's very unlikely they would end up under playstation instead of staying under kadokawa.

Yeah, the anime market is the obvious goal with this acquisition. Kadokawa will run alongside Aniplex if the acquisition goes through - or Sony merges the two like they did with Funimation and Crunchyroll. Aniplex and Kadokawa seem more similar in their business, only Aniplex has less manga/print as far as I know. Aniplex by the way also publishes games on the side, which are mostly multiplat (Switch and PC).
