What the hell is this exchange? At no point did Harris's campaign call half the country fascist, neo-nazis or garbage. It was the Trump campaign that called the other side marxists, communists, fascists, radical lunatics and the enemy from within that the national guard or military should be used on. The only thing the Harris campaign did was attack Trump, and only Trump, by calling him a fascist which he is. There are way too many people who don't understand that the word fascist is a descriptive term and not just an insult. The Harris campaign used it as a description, the way it's meant to be. The Trump campaign used the word as an insult, because the members of the Biden administration clearly do not fit the description of the word fascist. |
Oh, I think the Harris campaign was actually fine with messaging. But you know, things don't exist in a vacuum. Media commenters and people online do these things. And that is relevant. And my comment is also more directed at the general vibe: why do people put so much of their identity into things that are outside of their control? This is a general thing, even outside of politics. But it exists, and it is attributed to political stances and that influences election behaviour. Waving it away because Harris did not do it (great!) is turning a blind eye to the reasons things happened this way.
