I know, i was just wondering if you had a chart with only games that released at the same time. Would be interesting to see a comparison between games that launch together vs ones that were late ports. |
It seems not very interesting, because after all it does only moderately matter if it is a late port. Obviously for something that sold with legs for years on the other platforms it takes time to catch up, but this is only Rayman Legends and Minecraft. All the other titles dropped with their sales after some time, so that it doesn't matter if the new platform gets to the same point.
Genre or concrete Software matters more. Among the ones that released at the same time for instance: FIFA does sell extraordinarily well on PS4, it takes a bigger market share than usual. This leaves much less for XB1 and Switch, which in turn look pretty bad. LEGO The Incredibles on the other hand is nearly the same on all platforms, the PS4 has not the usual edge with this title. Street Fighter does especially bad on XBox One. Just Dance does much better on Switch than other titles. These all released at the same time on each platform, but still the genre matters so much more.
