That's good, but just to give Talon some more to work with, maybe you could do a grey closed envelope, an orange closed envelope, and a green open envelope? So there'd essentially by 6 different ones:

grey envelope: never clicked on thread

orange envelope: clicked on thread, not posted, new replies

green envelope: clicked on thread, not posted, no new replies

orange exclamation mark: posted, new replies

green pencil: posted, no new replies

Blue keyboard: you've been quoted.

But you have to look at the icon to see the colour in the first place. I think you'd be able to adjust. Of course, I think most people could adjust to the current system, too.

I'd prefer threads that you haven't posted in remains grey rather than the addition of orange and green. Anything coloured means that you have responded in that thread, and you can ignore all the grey ones, since you didn't post in them

Green = Posted and no New messages
Orange = Posted and New messages
Blue = quoted

Imo, keeping grey as not posted would be better, which is what it is currently.

Implementing these for unread and read would be much better, as the open envelope is much more obvious

Yeah, I think these look a lot better. The seperation on the second envelope creates a lot more distinction between the two as well.
