Sony saw the success the PS3 Slim was so do you think they would make the Slim Slimmer?

It still is somewhat of a big console and seems to me that it has some potential to be smaller, parts are still constantly being made smaller and smaller. This gen Sony has been coming out with many different versions of the PSP aswell so maybe they'll do that with the PS3. I believe in a few years as a last big move of the PS3 Sony will once again make the Slim Slimmer.

So do you guys think the PS3 Slim will become Slimmer?

Yes, they can still make the PSU external and there is room for a further shrink on the motherboard in the future. I would doubt we'll see any revision till 2011 at the earliest.

not for a long time. They could have made it a lot smaller just by taking the power supply out. It would have reduced space used, and it also would have reduced the cooling requirements which would have saved even more room as it would have needed a smaller fan.

Yes, you would have had a power brick, but that can be conveniently hidden behind the furniture, just like every other power brick I have.

It's not easy to making a smaller PS3 every time that sony wants. Sony needs to reduce the size of the ship cell. And is not so simple.

I doubt they'll make it much slimmer. It has to make economic sense to Sony before they'll make it slimmer. So making it like 5% smaller isn't high on their priority.

If they focused on reducing the size of the heatsink/fan which also means they have to consume less power and generate less heat plus making the power supply external, then maybe. It has to be cheaper before it gets slimmer though.

It's not easy or cheap to redesign a motherboard for a console but Sony did this inside the first year of the PS3's release.  It might not be simple but it is more than likely the moves to do this are already in motion as they'll have further cost saving benefits. 

For once I agree with Carl that it will be structured to release at the same time the PS3 hits $199 RRP.

IT will become even slimmer when cell/rsx go to 32nm and ssd become cheap........so around 2011/12 the earliest
