Forza 3 Product Manager: We beat GT5 on a lot of features

Think Gran Turismo 5 will be the definitive racing simulator of this generation? Not according to Forza devs it won't. Recently the guys at turn 10 have had choice words for GT5 when compared to their own sim, and most of what was uttered being unpleasant to say the least. Well they're at it again, this time it's Forza 3 product manager Amritz Lay, speaking to EGTV he went on confidently talking up the specs of Forza 3 (which any product manager would do) but what caught me off guard was his direct answer to a question most would dance around.

EGTV: How do you reckon Forza 3 stacks up against GT5?

 

"We've seen it on the floor, it's a good looking game, in terms of the content feature by feature, you know, I believe we beat them on a lot of the features as well our 400 hundred cars, they're fully built cars, full interiors, uh, fully damageable and deliveries just to mention that user created - user generated content really takes our game to the next level."

 

The guy's pretty confident in speech and according to him GT5 has nothing on Forza Motor Sport 3, which will be out exclusively for the Xbox 360 on October 23rd 2009. You know what's strange? I have this feeling GT5 fans are laughing their heads off, why? I have no clue, just a feeling. There's nothing to scoff at though, because so far the game's looking sweet.

sorry for no reply last night came back late from work. but heres my 2 cents.

 

both games will be must have, both will be desirable games to own, some may like 1 some the other. this isnt about that, its about turn10 claming they beat gt5 on features.

 

turn10 say "we beat them on a lot of the feature as well as 400 cars. and that there fully built cars. full interiors and fully damagable"

 

the above^ sentence is clearly a lie. as gt5 has 950 cars that are fully built with finer detail and proper full interiors, judging from forza 3 demo, the interior view is good but cam is set higher up. ie it shows less interior than gt5, on top of that in gt5 when in cokcpit mode when you look back the back of car interior is also fully built.

 

the fully damagable claim i thought was funny, the damage is same as forza 2, you can get bumpers falling off rollovers and thats it. in gt5 the so called normal cars will have similar damage to forza 3 ie scuffs and dents but without bumpers off. and on race cars it will have real damage, internal deformation bumpers off doors off hoods off roll overs. so if anything the damaage will be similar on both games.

 

forza 3 features user generated content like livery design and trading, i think this is the only feature that forza 3 has over gt5.

 

but on the flip side, gt5 has video on demand, youtube uploads and screen captures that can be done in game or seperate photomode, each screen grab will be 8 megapixles. the screen captures are saved on your xmb to view which is very handy. it also features WRC rally and nascar and certainly f1 cars.

becoming a real race driver directly through gt5p is the clear testament to the realism of the pro setting of gt5.

 

end of day we will have to wait till both games are out, but forza 3 certainly doesnt beat gt5 on features.

The people marketing Forza are doing an add job! Once again!

Forza 3 is better than GT5... Right now because GT5 isn't out so we cant cant say GT5 wins.

I don't why he's gloating about 400 cars with full interiors when GT5 has more than double that amount and they look much better.

Other than that there's nothing wrong with what he said. He was just answering a question and he did it in a less arrogant way than some of the people he works with.

Well judging from the demo, GT5P > F3

Haze is better than Halo Reach.....Right now because Halo Reach isn't out so we can't say Halo Reach wins
