My Poker nights usually are 10-20 people affairs....

I guess I just have a lot of friends.

That's pretty insane.  Biggest one I've ever seen was only about 12 players.

20 people though?  All playing in the same game?

Well not at the same table, I mean there isn't enough cards in the deck.  But same tournament yeah.  Get 20 people split em up at 4 tables, readjust the tables every once and a while, payout the top 4 and some people can make some real money for very little investment and everyone gets a lot of fun.

Don't do it so much anymore but it was fun back then.  We'd basically pull my base group of friends who were always up for a game.  So that was 8 people right there... then a subgroup of 6-7 that we taught poker to and who played regularly... and that right there got us to 12 people minimium when when accounting for other people leaving.

Plus we had another friend who liked to play... and he had a friend that always came by... and some other people we used to hang out with but didn't except poker wise cause they were kinda dicks, but they liked poker.

We had a full house a lot.

It's sad because now a days I struggle to get together a 4 person game.

Ironically moving to Las Vegas... but it really wouldn't be the same without my friends... plus we very rarely played for more then a 5 dollar buy in.

lol a bible study is now an unlawful act?

Here's a great double standard. While this did get in the news, nothing will likely come of it. If it had been a Muslim study group this would be a hate crime. The city would have to apologize to the group and allow them to carry on their studies.

LOL, I don't even know what the U.S. constitution is aside from what I've picked up from movies... I live in New Zealand, Ha!!

A Kiwi not worshipping Sony?  Isn't New Zealand like the only country in the world where PSP userbase is larger then DS userbase?

I'm another Kiwi who doesn't worship Sony =P

Also this sounds odd to me. It seems to violate the principles of freedom of assembly and freedom of religion.

Well, I'll take this time to say that an Australian Christian band has the #1 selling album right now on iTunes. Woo!

Can't believe it!  You are right.  Hillsong is #1.

Almost took the kids to see them here in L.A. - but missed it.

Great Band.

Yes they are. I've seen them live 3 different times in the US, and I also went to Sydney for a week during Encounterfest. They recorded All of the Above while I was there. Such awesome times.

I read about this.
Seems weird. I like California, but lots of the people in it are... hmmm.... how do I put this kindly...
Oh, never mind! This was unconstitutional!

Seems like there are a few separate issues here, and it's tough to piece out exactly what San Diego County's complaint is... but from what I can tell, it seems like the gathering is big enough to fall under some sort of category of "religious assembly" which requires a special permit.

Meaning, there wouldn't have been any problem if it was the same number of people getting together to watch the Chargers, unless they were praying to LT, which doesn't sound unlikely.

Sounds unconstitutional to me, on both grounds of freedom of religion and freedom of assembly, and possibly even equal protection.  And, more than that, it's numb-nut f-ing stupid on San Diego's part.  Breaking up a local Bible study on Good Friday?  Yeah, that's great press--totally worth whatever permit fee they were hoping to wring out of 'em.

I would be happy if all religions (and the memory of them) vanished overnight tonight....

Why exactly? The world would be completely out of whack. People would go mad and millions all around the world would be unemployed.

That much is true.  I know a guy who went back to being a Priest just because he couldn't find another job.

Always job openings for Priests.

Wow.. thats just wrong. But what can we expect, this world is changing way to fast and IMO in a bad dirrection. Like it or not a religion gives some discipline to a person :|

Then why on earth do Denmark, Sweden and Norway have ridiculously low crime rates and ridiculously high levels of atheism.

If anything the corellation between religion and crime would go in the other direction.
