If we are factoring in budgets, then I think the cost/revenue of the PS2 port of VCS and LCS should also be mentioned.

Depends on how similar the PSP and PS2 are in terms of the code and data they accept.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Hmm..I rather listen to waht the developers say about instead of analysts. I kinda doubt their claims lately specially when they talk about Nintendo.
You put a Mature title on a Nintendo Platform and it's bound for failure!
Nintendo has a kiddy image...and most of their games are KIDDISH wether Nintendo fanboys want to admit it or not...Nintendo Ds is owned mostly by kids and so is the Wii...their is no audience in there for mature games...
Go ahead and give me a million reasons why nintendo is not a kiddy system...I wont say anything Il just wait till the next Mature game comes out and FLOPS again on a Nintendo Platform...Make Chinatown wars for PsP wouldve probably sold better

I only need one reason to own you, the average age of wii and ds is higher then psp/ps3 and xbox360. Bye. Violent games are not mature, they're rather immature.
Ps: Metroid franchise and punch out!! say hi.

And how much of that average age comes from Cooking Mama lovers or games like that ? :)
IMHO PSP offers console like experience on the move, DS is all about innovative "gaming".

The analyst doesn't even mention of the problems with comparing lifetime sales against initial sales...
I'm not sure whether the analyst is misinformed or he just doesn't care about misinforming other people.

So, ps3 and xbox360 are more kiddy then wii. Those consoles are for people who think it's mature to kill people. It's really not mature, it's just fun like any other game can be.

You said it innovative "gaming", hence why I always see people at Uni and on buses playing the DS. Same with Japan it is all about the DS on the move.
