I think Metroid prime reinvented the first person adventure genre. I know it's also a shooter game, but anyone who played Metroid prime knows it's more of an adventure game.

Best comeback will be Sonic IF Sega makes a good game with sonic again.

I would say Devil May Cry. First was fantastic, second was pretty bad, then series comes back with third.

But, fourth wasn´t that good, so it´s not that great comeback, after all. Let´s hope, that fifth will be better.

hmm ok KZ2 is a gr8 example..

for me it was Virtua fighter 2 vs VF1..

this game exploded on the arcade scene, did everything better than the first one. Especially the shun di stage on the raft with the over head bridge... THAT was epic.

Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd.

a. a AAA 3D sonic title

Call of Duty - Thanks to Infinity Ward for making Modern Warfare. Going away from WWII was the best thing to happen to the franchise. Great job World at War, right back to WWII. Thankfully Modern Warfare 2 is coming.

Killzone - Killzone 2 redeemed the franchise. Now Killzone 3 could be even bigger than 2.

Madden - Yeah sounds weird, right? Well Madden 07 and 08 were horrible. Looks like EA figured it out with Madden 09 which I think got about an 86 or 87 on Metacritic.
