A year ago this would have been an easy question but now it actually has merit. Things change so quickly in this industry.
Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

No. The 360 is heading back th its normal 2,500 a week until Last Remnant comes out.
My most anticipated games: Whatever Hideo Kojima is going to do next, Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Gran Turismo 5, Alan Wake, Wii Sports Resort. Cave Story Wiiware.
It would be quite the feat for 360 to outsell the PS3 again this week. Time will tell how the 360 will fare in Japan. Until then, we play the waiting game.
Still, to think that 360 would ever get to be in this position... Impressive, most impressive.

It's not so much that things change quickly, as it is that Microsoft did what was needed to make themselves competitive...Unlike last generation.
It's not that hard for a system to do well in Japan, or any country, really (provided there aren't strange circumstances such as mainland Europe's dislike of the X360 due to their hatred of Microsoft and their quality controls).
If the Playstation 3 had made the same moves - Bought up big 3rd party IPs, made aggressive pricedrops, and marketed properly, they could of been competitive with the Wii, but they didn't. Likewise, if the Wii had done the same, it'd be selling 70,000 a week and not 30,000 a week.
It's all about positioning, and Microsoft is trying to position themselves as the Otaku console in Japan, and not the Playstation 3. And unlike Sony, they are doing a pretty good job at securing a litany of JRPGs, western games, and other niche products that the Wii and PS3 have overlooked.
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

and where does it say that?
I think it will, last weeks japan preview, underestimated the 360, which we saw last week in the numbers, this weeks wide range og 6k shows, that they dont really know what it will be
supply constraint is the chief hold up, does make things harder to predict a good next step for MS would be to push a value line (games) out in say 3-4 weeks

Microsoft has their platinum/best price schedule already published for the next few months in Japan:
September - Forza Motorsports 2
October 23 - Gundam Mousou International
November 6th - Ace Combat 6, Assassain's Creed, Beautiful Katamari, Lost Odyssey, Project Gotham Racing
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
