Forums - Gaming Discussion - Sad Nintendo Wii Owner :( Should I trade it in ? Help me make up my mind...

I will keep this relatively short. Never sell your console, unless its the end of the generation and you are sure that you won't want to play your games again. I have seen people do this and they always regret it. As soon as you sell your console a half dozen or so games will come out that you want and you'll end up buying it all over gain for more money than you received for selling it.

LOL nice trolling attempt. Clearly this thread isn't for real.

Or... keep the games, and buy the hardware again once it's cheaper in a year or so. By then a lot of the third party games currently in development will be available.

The only reason to sell a Wii is because even used, they still fetch the same price as what most paid for it when they bought it at retail. You might even get more around Christmas for it if the millions of consoles currently stockpiled aren't enough to meet demand.

If it fetched less than $200 used, it still makes more sense to keep it as a second platform unless you wheel and deal in used games and hardware like a video game junky who can't support his habit.

Of course, if you really don't like the games available on the platform today, arguably some of the best the Wii is going to see until the next Mario, Metroid, Zelda, Smash Bros, Kart sequel, call me skeptical, but why bother with the Wii in the first place?

who would want to play Medal of honor using motion sensing

Um... perhaps people that enjoy the tight control of a mouse (equivilent) and the immersion provided by gestures (when done well). The same reason FPS will always control better on a PC. Try beating a PC player on any of the very few games that have allowed cross networking. Hint: there's a reason few games do this.

Aren't eBay prices holding up nicely?  I don't think he'd lose money if he sold it now and had to buy another (used) in, say, 2 years when used prices will certainly be lower.

DON'T trade shit in to Gamestop.

Hey noname: the Wii is focusing on casual gaming now.  Posting pics for games, SOME of which aren't casual, doesn't disprove this.  Thinking before you post is hard, I know.

Blue Ocean.  Casual games.  Old people.  Wii.

You forgot some awesome WiiWare games. :V (Mega Man 9 and the Strong Bad series)

If you have to ask people on a gaming site forum this question. Well I say you have to trade in your Nintendo Wii. There is no need to whinge to us about your unhappiness.

I only intended the thing about the majority of Wii's games as a fact. The other two were opinions. Chicken Shoot got a 2.5 on Wii from gamespot, 27 from metacritic (sorry about that, I meant chicken shoot) and Medal of Honor: Vanguard for Wii got 5.5. I personally wouldn't play either of those, but apparently some people would. And besides, to pay MONEY for a game which was basically made in 1985 (Duck Hunt) seems a bit ridiculous to me.

Then again, I never really liked MoH at all, after Rising Sun. Again, personal preference.

And were all of those pictures supposed to mean something? Can you honestly tell me WarioWare: Smooth Moves is not a casual game?

The large majority of Wii games fall into the category of 'casual'. The OP said he didn't like the good 'non-casual' games, so I personally think a different console is for him.
