Forums - Gaming Discussion - Put: 'Boycot Ubisoft' in your sig!

You seem to be missing the point. Read some of the posts by the rabid fanboys. They want people to Boycott all Ubisoft games, not just the bad ones. This is the stupid part. Boycotting the shitty games is a good idea, boycotting all the games is a dumbass idea.

I've said this before but... When you don't agree with a company's strategy to the point that you'd feel bad by giving them your hard-earned money, one of your options is to simply not give them any more money. That's called boycotting a company, it happens all the time and is not nearly as outlandish as some people are making it seem. It's also known as putting your money where your mouth is.

There are plenty of things which have caused people to temporarily or permanently stop giving money to a particular company, including several cases with MS and Sony.

How can you boycott crappy games?, I mean if you think a game is crappy you wouldn’t but it anyway. A boycott has to be all or nothing to have any meaning.

You're like the umpteenth person to say that, it's been answered many times in this thread if you care to read it.

Ok well if that's the case, then if this Boycott becomes popular among wii owners then it looks like i will be buying a ps3/360 to play some of ubi's franchises since all this boycott will do is turn ubi away from wii.

Mil. Sellers:

Wii:      25 titles       101.4 mil total    avg 4 mil per title

PS3:     14 titles      28.6 mil total    avg ~2 mil per title

360:     41 titles      89.8 mil total   avg  >2 mil per title

I don't think so, it's not that simple... The percentage of gamers who know about this boycott is very small, not enough to make them change their strategy. A boycott is a personal thing, it doesn't matter if you really think it will have an effect by itself.

However, all the noise around this boycott may cause Ubisoft to do a public statement clarifying their position and/or cause their executives to recheck their stance on the Wii, which would be a good thing by itself. Even if they end up changing nothing, many people would be satisfied by simply seeing them clarify their position. Last year they said they were putting massive resources into Wii development (400-500 people), and that they'd achieve Nintendo-like quality in their games. Personally, I want them to clarify what happened to these promises. With that amount of resources you could make truly great games, which so far aren't released, announced or even hinted at, so pardon me if I'm highly suspicious of those claims.

@Ivader: Sorry if I misunderstood you, I didn't see you quoting any post so I assumed you were just posting a generic comment.

WOW, this thread is getting infested with PS3 fanboys, lead by an anti-Wii mod (ssj12).

I can't believe you get satisfaction out of our problem.
ssj12,OkeyDokey(you are pathetic, not us), DMJ(Agrees with everyone that hates the Wii), Disolitude, Munkeh and a lot more.

If you don't like the idea just don't spam this thread with your hate, it's a campaign we Wii owners are making it won't affect you. Sad that a mod comes in and flamebaits.

I a wii only owner, misterd who is a big wii supporter see how stupid all this is. Not only the Sony/MS fanboys are calling you Wii fanboys out, even us sane wii supporters see how stupid this whole campaign of yours is.

Why is it stupid? Telling a company they aren't getting out money if they keep spitting on a large group of their customers? How is that dumb? Just because you think it won't work? Who cares if it won't? The point is to let Ubisoft know we won't stand for it.

BTW, a call for a boycott, among the general furor over the planned Mass Effect PC restrictions did get EA to rescind those plans, so this is not as pie in the sky as it looks.

I can't speak for others, but I support an entire boycott simply because I see anything less as a half measure. The point is to let Ubisoft know that we are aware that if they are going to spit on any of their customers, then they might spit on others, so I won't even give them a cent until the recind that attitude.

Hello to everyone

This is my first post in any VGChartz-Forum.
I normaly don't do this but this time it's necessary

!!! BOYCOTT UBISOFT !!!

Maybe now it's just the Wii, but what will happen in 3 years? The quality of their games is just getting worse (Haze was their last masterpiece ). Ubicrap has to see that they made a mistake otherwise this will effect the other consoles some time. It's our duty stopping them now, until it's to late

I love the Wii and will always do as long as NINTENDO is supporting it with their great games.

Don't hate me
and have a good time
